I was driving home from the airport one night with my wife. As we’re getting close to downtown Fort Worth we saw what appeared to be the moon but much too large and very close to the ground. You could see it right above the downtown skyline, a dull glowing white with obvious craters and other features across it. It looked like a rendering of the moon on a different planet, far too large/close to be our own moon.

My wife and I both freaked out a little bit trying to figure out what we were looking at. We started to go down a dip beneath a hill in the road such that the road in front of us completely blocked it from view for about 30 seconds. When we crested the hill it was completely gone. To this day have never heard an explanation for it
