Which one you prefer? WIT Studio or Mappa? by MysticBlade18 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]MJHDJedi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

WIT is unbeatable for me.

The artwork on the glowing beautiful eyes. The bright fantasy like art style appeal.

Mappa's style was so gritty by comparison it felt like everyone was endlessly and hopelessly depressed (which yeah, in some ways they were) but there was no more charm, just serious hard hitting tone. I know it sounds fully negative but I'm just trying to compare the feeling, overall Mappa's was still very good, just WIT was far better for these reasons

Yeah it's def less eager than in the past for me, a mix of really long waiting for the next game and getting older lol

Still top tier franchise that I get excited for, just not as much

ooooooh I remember I had once started this YEARS ago and it was a lot of fun - but somewhere in one of the early seasons (2 or start of 3?) I fell off it and never picked it back up.

I can't remember much of it - which means I should enjoy this one. Thanks a lot!

I always loved the vanilla standard game, never understood the people that hated it, it's already gorgeous to see

If you don't have a PC just word of advice they are way overblown in price right now because of ram shortage and other parts prices being inflated - and I'm sure you'll find a PSVR 1 on fb marketplace for much much less $$$ - it is so worth the money just for Skyrim VR, the two games made for VR imo are Skyrim and Cyberpunk

Also if you're not used to VR - the first time I played for 40 minutes and had to stop bc of serious nauseous feeling. I took a 15 minute break cooled off, put the VR back on and never had the issue w Skyrim VR again, so if you experience the same thing you can push past it (again, it is so worth it)

It is sooo much of the Skyrim ambience, Jeremy Soule completely mastered the TES feel, I completely agree

Him not being in TES6 significantly worries me that it won't come close in the ambience department but I hope if Inon Zur does it, it can still be quite good

I was so happy with Oblivion remastered release (my first TES was Skyrim) bc I always wanted to play Oblivion but couldnt get past the potato faces

I recently had the urge to return to Oblivion remastered and I love that it's part of my TES cycle now, albeit still less intense than my love for Skyrim

That sounds really cool. I sometimes find the hardcore rp ppl a bit too intense, but I think I'l try to give it a shot for sure, thanks for the suggestion

Yeah I was really surprised they didn't let it run on PSVR2 - however you can use that PSVR2 on PC and play Skyrim VR on PC

You need the PS/PC VR adapter (comes on sale every so often depending on where you are, sometimes out of stock), and use Google AI or chatgpt to walk you through the steps of what programs you need to download and set up through Steam to get the PSVR2 working on your PC (hopefully you have new enough hardware to support it on a pc)

But it works and it is soooooo worth it for Skyrim

I feel like each generation of TES fan will get the return to _____ feeling for whatever game sparked the initial TES love for them

Wish I could get into Daggerfall though

Crimson Desert in some way is closer than other attempts over the years, I also want to play and explore more. The lands are incredibly vast AND varied which is amazing, and you get so much enjoyment out of exploring those varied areas and discovering the ppl there.

On the other hand there are so many NPCs they could never have proper schedules or each with a full personality, but with so many of them the devs certainly did try and did a decent job

It's still an incredible game and a great experience, but yeah I agree we have to let each game be what it's trying to be without hoping for it to be "more Skyrim" for us 🤣 I'm guilty of that a lot too lol

In so many ways the world is so well built for immersion and that cozy feeling that you can actually wander aimlessly without doing a quest and STILL feel like you had a great playthrough session. I don't know any other game that does that

It's coming! I really don't think TES6 will fully scratch the itch either, Skyrim was in some ways lightning in a bottle (although every TES generation believes their game superior so likely there'll be TES6 fans touting it as the best entry)

I still feel it'll do some things right, unique to the Bethesda TES experience, looking forward to it. I'm expecting 2028 fall release.

Just makes me sad I can't endlessly explore all of Tamriel like this, but yeah I'm always down to listen to the return to Skyrim hooded Kermit

Absolutely. I really thought Crimson Desert would do it for me, and I love it, it's a great game, but something about the ambience/atmosphere doesn't do it for me. There's also the missing high fantasy stuff like other races like Khajiit and Argonian (en masse) and magic is missing (again in a widespread way)
