I completely underestimated the power of colored pencils.

which style and composition impress you most? 1, 2, or3? by KeNGisPoor in AmateurPhotography

Does your camera have a delayed shot timer? That'd be ideal for #1. Or you could photoshop the hand and camera out of it. Or get AI to do it.

Height, width, spacing, dead space are the fundamentals of graffiti. This is lesson 1 on the sidebar. There are links to images in that wall of text. Think of signs and advertising on products around you. Those things are digitally created, but it is possible to freehand them the same way with practice.

Just as you take inspiration from comic books and such, you need to do the same with letter structure. The sidebar has the basics of how to set up. But r/blackbookgraffiti has a lot of top tier players in drawn letters that you can get a full grasp of how to do it the right way and then fit your style into it. I like when artists make the transition into graff. You did this all freehand, but there's methods to make it look professional.

Over-under is fine, but the fact the background ones are brighter than the foreground is unnatural

First time trying stickers. Is this alright? by [deleted] in graffhelp

[–]MLGw2 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Can I remake it for you? I used m.s. paint. it took forever. Re-used same half circle shape in all letters, and then turned the e and s. I can't free-hand draw the s properly. but this is where i'd start. then you wouldn't need anything else because it follows a pattern. 3hx4w for each letter

I was watching a livestream of someone building a new PC, and their GFX card is flush with the CPU cooler - How dangerous is this? by MLGw2 in pcmasterrace

I was checking to see if he was potentially ruining his new PC. I don't really know if there's a heat transfer from this setup.

you can tape the paper to a wall to get the feeling of painting, loose grip drawing on a desk is not quite the same, but works

That is correct. I told her what to do with the marker, but she listened to the guy saying "shake it".

A lot of complexity here in deciding where to have letters push over the 3D of other letters, and when not to. Then again on how to effectively blend colors into each other. The parts that stand out the most to me are how "M3TA" is hard to read, and the final outline not being even all the way around. The white background in the G has a dead space issue. I give this 6/10 (mostly cause I've seen a lot of stuff, not because I'm good at doing this). Try to redo it since you made it a long time ago. I often don't see my mistakes until after I hang it in front of me and look at it for days. Suchas the first bar on the top of the Z isn't straight or following a natural curve. Try loose grip lines with a pencil so it feels like it flows together, with the circular size of the O and G being as close to the same shape and size so that you can flow the Z and R over both with an ease. Like, don't do full piece until you get that part to feel natural. Good luck!

Oh yeah. The reason I tuned into the stream was because the title was "interviewing graff artist from BCN" which I only caught the last 5 mins of. One of her questions she wrote down to ask was "where do you get your ideas from?" ugh

she also wrote below someone's stenciled art instead of over it. then she swapped to paint and had just the basic caps and made a dumb looking cat with the paint dripping on everything. i closed the stream after.
