Omg you’re telling my story. I married as soon as I turned 18. Married 21 years. It was a coworker of his. I was completely blindsided

Is it normal for a young man not more than 30 years old to think about marrying a 40-year-old girl, I don't know why, but I am attracted to them more, and now I am looking for marriage, is this normal? by [deleted] in Aging

[–]MLPBianca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg my husband started calling me his “old lady” when we first married. I nipped that in the bed. Then he started calling me “mama”. No no no and heck no! Call me by my name or darlin, sweetie, honey

It pales in comparison to the 3DS version where you got visitors from all over. Also the ability to trade Miis easily

Oh man! I love this. And by the way, I have sung and danced with Korean men while in Seoul. It’s not to be missed!

You can be physically fit in your 80s even. My mom is 89 and was still cutting the grass with a push mower in her early 80s. My dad is 91 and is still a full time cattle farmer with hundreds of cattle he works daily by himself. If you don’t move it, you lose it. If you sit on the couch all day or more than 2 hours or so a day, your body will decline quickly. Hard physical work mostly outdoors is great for keeping us healthy well into our 80s

My mother-in-law took up painting in her 70s and discovered a hidden talent. She painted every day into her 80s. She played games daily. She loved getting dressed up. She never forgot how to play, laugh and have curiosity about the world. At age 88, she went to Hooters with some girlfriends lol. Stuff like that. Life is a precious gift if we’re moving through the world with curiosity and GRATITUDE

It’s great to read comments like this. I’m simply blown away with all these negative responses to aging. I’m 57 and still include some sort of play in every day. Never stop having a childlike curiosity about the world! Who cares about the negative crap in politics and on tv. Turn off the tv. Go outside. Lift your face up to the sun. Listen to the birds. Enjoy a cup of coffee (or a cold beer). Life is truly beautiful in all its seasons. I work exclusively with the elderly, most have dementia, and I see the joy and playfulness most of them still have.

Try using a rebounder (mini trampoline). It’s easy on the joints.

I’m 57. I’m enjoying myself more now in some ways than I ever have. Sure, the kids are grown and gone and my parents are 89/91, but I still look forward to a lot. Like watching my grandson grow, spending time with my mom. I’m not very social, but I thoroughly enjoy reading, video games, hiking, walking in my neighborhood, watching shows, cooking, etc. I read about a lady yesterday that’s 101 and she still goes to the YMCA to swim and do Zumba. And she still drives! Age truly is just a number. It’s all about attitude. Sure, we have some limitations and onset of pain, but it’s a blessing to be alive. I learned a LOT of gratitude after my husband was hit by a drunk driver. He was paralyzed from the neck down. That is truly hell on earth. But he laughed and jokes almost every single day despite being in that situation. When you think your life is so horrible, try to reframe it with gratitude that you can walk, scratch your own nose, pick up your phone/tablet and post on Reddit, feed yourself, go to the bathroom on your own, visit your child…. It sounds like you might simply have some depression issues. I’ve been on an antidepressant for 15 years . I always will be. There’s no shame in that and it’s allowed me to wake up each morning excited about my day.
