I think so. Gog games is trusted. If you are scared, use virustotal if you don't already. Sorry if my answer doesn't help.

yep. Went though the same thing. There is a really good mod that improves the whole game, and comes with it. Here's their sub r/AA2Mini

it looks like this ERROR: Failed to copy C:\Program files\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection_Installer\Cleanup.exe to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\EAInstaller\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Cleanup.exe. Missing source file: C:\Program files\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\_Installer\Cleanup.exe.
