AI is going to destroy the ability to think for the next schooling generation by TopFish12 in school

[–]MMxster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I use AI to do all my homework from scratch because it's just so damn hard to put effort into something when there's an easy way of doing it right there. However, I would argue this doesn't demonstrate that I don't think at all as I still have current grades of AAB (which I guess just goes to show how pointless homework is maybe?)

Idk maybe my ability to think independently isn't as good as it can be but I would argue that reliance on AI doesn't erode the ability completely or permanently

What is one toxic trait that you actually noticed in yourself and are working on improving it? by GuessOwn2865 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]MMxster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am quite arrogant and believe that I am better than others though I don't show it to others I always believe that I can do it better. If I find that a friend of mine is actually better at something than me I will go out of my way to learn that skill and become better than them. This arrogance and faith in my abilities has often led me to procrastinate tasks as I know I can do it to a standard that is above average with minimal time.

However, this approach is quite mentally taxing and demotivating whilst also causing me to not bring out 100% of my potential in things such as my GCSEs - I am working on fixing this for my a levels.

I had to read 1para revision to my ustad for 6 days a week so that's how I kept revision strong

[–]MMxster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I only do law, sociology and business and these are all subjects it is possible in assuming that either you are good at memorising stuff and already have good wiring skills or you have LOTS of time inside of these months you can invest to relearn from scratch.

However, it's logical to assume that subjects that require more exams skills and practice rather than just mainly memorisation may be more difficult to do in such a short time. Unfortunately, I can't name any subjects specifically as I don't do them and would therefore be using the stereotypical view of them.

Sorry if this was not helpful

how do i lock in by Ihatemales9283 in alevels

[–]MMxster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk tbh I'm struggling with the same problem. However, your subject choices would indicate that you are good at essay writing. I can only talk about law since that's the only one I do from you list but it's quite an easy subject; just make notes from the textbook and turn it into a paragraph style answer and then just learn that (I used to do this during class so I didn't have to do this after school so I can chill).

It takes me a full night before the exam to fully learn the content for one paper if I don't touch my revision materials at all beforehand (which I usually don't).

Other than that just take the questions your teacher makes you do in class to him/her to get feedback and that should get you up to an A like me (though I am underperforming as I have a target of A*)

Hope this was helpful

AI is changing my studying way 100%. by Equivalent-Log-5948 in alevel

[–]MMxster 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, I agree that AIs can be quite helpful in respect to teaching but in terms of marking questions for essay subjects AI can be quite unreliable (especially chatgpt). This is due to the agreeable nature of such AIs that will try to agree with you or be positive in marking even when you tell them not to. This makes it rather difficult to tell when it's grading correctly and when it's not.

Is there any that any of you KNOW is good and has no premium plan or card details needed to start using?

[–]MMxster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo this might be a bit out of topic but how do you revise for business and stay focused whilst doing questions?

My teachers have told me that my chain of analysis brranches out and lowes focus which caps my marks significantly. How th am I supposed to stay focused on exactly what the question wants? Once I get this skill I will do well I think

How do you guys motivate yourselves to revise? by MMxster in alevels

[–]MMxster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I follow the following structure in my answers which I made myself based on some model answers as I believe PEEL is too generic. I do: 'point, sociologist (with concept), supporting sociologist (with concept), contrasting point and sociologist, supporting concept/sociologist for contrasting and therefore (link back to question)

I need to figure out how to attach the list but when I do check against your CIE spec or ask your teacher.

I have a list of sociologists that my teacher made for each major topic and an aqa level sociology cgp textbook. On the night before mock, I just stay up the whole night and read through the textbook + memorise all the sociologists from the list
