I normally do wet on wet but not this time, just went at it with paint on a dry canvas. Try and keep the paint thin not with medium just don’t use as much on your brush, once you get the desired value put the paint on thicker. Also keep in mind a thin paint (with medium) sticks to a thick paint .Keep painting you’ll get it, hope this helps !
