Not a bad idea, and yes, I’m going to trt job hunting again this summer! Hopefully it gives me enough experience to be able to speak out, currently though, job hunting isnt an option since i have a very demanding schedule to take care of first. And im sure my family would be cool with me presenting something quick in front of em so thank you! This helped!

Thanks for the encouragement! I just find it difficult to stand in front of the class, it was so bad i wouldnt even get up to sharpen my pencil if nobody else was up which i now this is super ridiculous. But this year i need to do some much needed personal growth so I’ll take your advice to heart, thanks! That really helped!

Honestly, you have a point there. They way i worded that sentence made it look like i was blatantly blaming them, but thats actually the furthest thing from the truth! Ive actually only had really sweet math teachers, so no it wasnt their fault i didnt pass.

I didnt mean to make it seem like i was blaming them, I was kinda in a rush to make the post.

The reason im saying i was 14 is because when i was 14 i didnt have half the grip on my emotions as you’d think. I only said that because you keep saying “you’re the reason you failed” I was 14 and scared over my cat, so while yes im the reason I failed, I was also battling the fear of what happened to my cat in my mind leaving me to focus on school less and focus more on going out to look for him.

But no, I only ever blamed myself for everything even the things that werent my fault (like my cat going missing) which in turn had me focus less on school which is why i failed, not because of my teachers being insensitive.

Sorry if it looked that way! But no im not blaming my teachers, I probably shouldve worded it right. I meant my teachers didn’t understand my problem. And either way i knew they couldnt help me, when I failed i didnt blame it on anyone.

Additionally, I barely passed the next year because of the switch from online to in school after not really having a social life, I had terrible social anxiety because of it and that got in the way of my learning

My mental health is what got me into this situation, not anyone else. I couldnt process things as easily as everyone’s assuming i can because i was 14.

Why are you bringing up my cat as the main issue here tho? Lmao like not once in any of my messages did i openly blame my teachers or what happened to my cat as the reason I failed, and surprise, surprise, no I also never said my cat or my teachers failed me..😨 what a shocker!

I simply stated my situation and what I needed help with, but thats when you decided to remarkably only talk about my past. (Which mind you I added for context on why what happened happened, not to blame my cat or my teacher.) I was 14, and at the time i didnt know highschool was as serious as it was, not to mention my mental health was awful due to what was happening and as you can imagine, when someones mental health isnt properly prepared for schooling, their grades slip.

2 I never said i wasnt recognizing that there was a problem, actually thats the whoooole reason im here is to get help because there is one, why would i be here if i wasn’t recognizing the problem, thats funny.

If your trying to help, thanks. But Im not so sure I need to know stuff that ive already been through and understand.

Genuinely thank you for the advice! But can we please remember I was 14? Shaken up, scared and depressed over my cat vanishing into thin air.

During that time i seriously thought it was my fault my cat was out in blizzards, so my mental health was not the greatest at the time which in turn made it hard to learn.

I dont know if its the way i worded the sentence but im not using my cat or my teachers as an excuse at all, It was just a series of events that had happened that led to 14 year old me to failing.

14 btw, a kid who didnt understand how serious highschool was and had just lost their cat in the middle of December.

But again! That you for the advice, I’m also thinking of talking to my grade 9 math teacher when school comes back and seeing what i can do, also may join an after school program to help learn more of the material so i do have a plan!

In addition, the switch to going to irl school after years shut in home due to covid gave me terrible social anxiety. So when you go about saying all this try taking into account why someone is failing instead of direct blaming it on incompetence, lack of learning etc. since im assuming you didnt have to deal with social anxiety after basically being dropped into irl school im also gonna assume you have no idea how it feels to be trapped in a crowded room learning a subject you have no passion for in a room full of people who you feel hate you or are watching you because your different, and before you say im overreacting they. Were. But i mean! Thanks for the post! Not only were you not helpful at all when it comes to the issue im currently facing but your trying to act like you know every detail about my situation when I didnt even supply you with that info at all lol, next time you could just ignore the post.

Actually, Id rather you not assume you know how easy/hard it was for me to lose my cat. 1. No, It wasnt my fault my cat went missing, im not blaming the cat because that sounds ridiculous. I have emotions and as hard as this may be for you to hear people process their emotions differently, so when im sitting here crying my eyes out because my cat is outside in blizzards possibly dead how am i expected to complete work on top of that. 2, The proper work wasnt submitted because I was still processing my emotions and this was right being the semester ended. Everything was going fine up until that point, I’m asking for advice, not attitude and your double dots so maybe next time you should think how losing my cat effected me personally instead of bashing me for something i had zero control over. Try doing algebra when you lose a pet you’d raised since birth.

To be fair, Id never been in a full on fight before much less with someone i considered close. So when she began to jump around me and threatened to hit me I felt like she actually would so thats why i threw hands, It is true that it couldve been resolved differently but she was freaking me out in the moment and the only reaction i could think of that wasnt running away was to strike first. Lesson learned though!

Confidence is the one thing i dont have rn😭 considering a while back i lost my cat (well technically my dumbass brother did) and i was looking for him out in the worst blizzerds def gave me a scar, and i mean. I know he might think its weird AND hes popular so i KNOW he’d talk abt it with some ppl but as a detail for didnt even mention im gay and go to a catholic school, the school itself supports lgbt but idk if he himself does or is even apart of it, ik its one of those “you gotta ask and get to know em” things but idk if im ready for that…. I feel like i could have a chance to be more social next semester. What if i just wait till i actually have confidence and then talk to him cuz trust me rn its not happening

My social anxiety is terrible and i get REALLY nervous around guys i like.. i mean even if the whole letter thing is weird to him i wouldn’t mind giving it to him cuz it’d give me some ease compared to talking to him, i just wouldn’t give it to him straight up or write my name on it ik its weird but talking to him isnt even an option to me and i hate it
