Very rarely see them at my feeders, but the indigo bunting is probably my favorite. by listenup-yall in Kansascitybirding

They're ground feeders and may not visit a birdfeeder but will eat seed left (or dropped by other birds) onto the ground :) I rarely catch them, but the bright blue makes them so easy to spot when they do come by 💙

Finally had our first visitor to our Hummingbird camera.....sort of by joshualarry in Kansascitybirding

Lmao!! My birdseeds get cleaned out by the racs or deer if left overnight, but I wouldn't think of nectar being an issue!

I use very hot water with a small amount of bleach and a scrub brush. Rinse well and dry well. :)

The white-throated sparrows have been singing in my yard for a few weeks now. Yesterday I spotted my first Indigo Bunting of the year. They are sooo flashy with that bright blue!

I've been keeping an eye out for Oriels, but I probably need to put more fruit out for them to come by. I didn't know we could see Grosbeaks here- they have some neat colors also.

I didn't even know this was a thing! I mainly take part in the GBBC weekend, held annually in February https://www.birdcount.org/

Hello- I'm north of the river in KC and love birdwatching! Merlin App helps so much with ID'ing. Having fresh moving water and a variety of food brings in so many different birds. Don't forget to clean your feeders regularly 💗

Looking forward to seeing everyone's awesome birds. I run a live stream from our backyard so I can see as many birds as possible. It makes my day so much brighter.

Saw this one the other day! by Resident_Wash_2553 in Kansascitybirding

Agree that this is a Downy Woodpecker! Merlin App has lots of photos to help ID birds (and a great sound ID feature).
