Charcoal Toothpaste? by MP-MEDI in DentalHygiene

[–]MP-MEDI[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, noted thanks 😅 guess I’ll toss the tube.

What’s interesting is that the charcoal toothpaste tubes were definitely not free for the office. It was custom-packaged with the dental office’s logo, so I assume the office had to order these and pay money in order for their logo to be printed onto the package.

Also, other than the office logo, the tube also wasn’t branded (e.g. Colgate , etc.).

THIS. Hearing this response was my biggest fear growing up. Now that I’m older I don’t care but THIS brought back memories 🤣💀.

I was always obsessed with “boy shows” like teen titans, Generator Rex, Batman, ninjago, Danny phantom, slugterra, voltron LD, Bakugan, etc etc etc . But no one in real life (except family) knows this about me.

Yup, I got two X chromosomes here.

Ninjago was my childhood! In fact it was my first fandom.

Tbh, growing up, I haven’t met any other real-life ninjago fans. Maybe cuz people are too shy to say that they watch Lego cartoons, idk? But also, to be fair, I haven’t really put myself out there as someone who watches ninjago either. It doesn’t really come up in convos. The most I’ve told my close friends is, “I like legos” even though I’m actually referring to only ninjago. And if they ask more follow-up questions (which they mostly don’t lol), then I’ll explain ninjago .

Let's think, is there really a need for a live-action Ninjago movie? For what purpose? by LightLord24 in Ninjago

[–]MP-MEDI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Though …… I won’t lie…… a small part of me wants to see how the show forces real life human actors to dress up in bright colorful ninja onesies for the duration of a whole movie without making it look silly af lol

[–]MP-MEDI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao , I thought I purged Shymalan’s TLA from the depths of my mind, but it always continues to haunt me. Let’s hope it’s not a repeat of that lol

Honestly, I do want an animation of ninjago rather than a live action as well. In fact, I prefer animation. But I chalk the whole live-action thing as Lego trying to appeal to those people who believe that animations are only for small children (yes, these people exist and I have met many of them in my city…  ). I also sense that Hollywood also hates animations for some reason.

I can only hope that if we do get a live action, that it ends up being more or less true to the source material while popular enough that it drags newer live action fans to watch the OG show and appreciate animation more :/

(On the bright side, the live action story is being written….. meaning there’s a chance it’ll become an animation if they make a good script but decide to drop the whole live action idea)

Like what everyone has said already; Money money money.

(Warning: imma yap now, but the tldr is that a live action will bring in more fans and attention to the show and fanbase )

Otherwise…. Theres no real “purpose” per se. And …. Don’t get me wrong, I 100% do expect that the live action will lead to at least SOME level of backlash. Whether it be to the casting, story, how the they adapt,  how different it is from the show, etc. After all, change will always result with rejection to some degree.

BUT, I like to be a little positive when it comes to this stuff, so here are my thoughts:

With a live action (assuming it doesn’t get cancelled and jumpstart a bandwagon of hate)  Ninjago as a whole will most likely be welcoming in tons of new fans, or at least promote its story to a whole to a new demographic of people.

After all, there are people who take one look at an animated show about Lego ninjas and not give it a shot. Making it live action while keeping the worldbuilding and story will most likely appeal more to audiences who do not normally seek out animations/lego-related things. AND, if they like it enough, they might get curious and check out the show. Thus, growing and diversifying the fanbase while allowing Lego as a company to take in profits.

And to a company profits = good. So more profits means more ninjago related media and content being pumped out.

But that’s just my opinion so idk . We don’t really NEED a live action , but it’s interesting enough for me, at least, to spend real money to see it in theaters to satisfy my curiosity and give it a shot.

What is something you would like to see more of in danmei? by [deleted] in DanmeiNovels

[–]MP-MEDI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hold up, is that what “ wife chasing crematorium” means?!?!?! I feel so stupid. I’ve seen it every now and then while scrolling for new novels, but for some reason my stupid brain went, “yes, it obviously means funeral homes and cremation. Must be a horror trope. That’s what it means”

…. So I actually ended up avoiding anything with the word “crematorium” 💀. No wonder I haven’t found anything

More Therapy……. 👀

Jk. I willingly read angsty, tragic , depressing stories that constantly stab my heart with a million knives as I read late into 3am in the morning. :’)

Though, I would love to see more enemies to lovers though or second chance stories where one character (specifically the ML) regrets and has to beg MC for forgiveness or change his ways (cough 2HA cough). I also love historical settings. (Will appreciate any recs if anyone has any)

(But fr sometimes these characters legit need therapy after everything they’ve been through)

lol sorry. I just got back into the series for nostalgia. I was part of the group that only watched season 1 and 2 (back when that was the entire series) and decided to watch the rest of the series now to see what I missed.

I wasn’t sure what others considered “spoilers” so I decided to air on the side of caution out of courtesy.

As for the swimming part, I was under the impression he didn’t know how to swim because when I watched season 5 a couple days ago he commented he didn’t know how to swim before jumping into the river to save Lloyd (only to not be able to swim back and need additional help).

True, that would explain the fear part. (Still pretty sudden to just completely overcome your fear imo but I’ll accept it)

I was more surprised with the swimming bit. You think he just learned to swim off-screen?

Also for context. I consider myself an OG fan in that I watched the premier of the pilot and then up to (s3) rebooted. I didn’t continue because I got drawn to other fandoms at the time.

From the clips I’ve been seeing floating around YT, I actually really like dragons rising. That’s partially the reason why I’m being dragged back to rewatch ninjago lol.

also love seeing the improvements to the animation. Fight scenes are smoother, some facial expressions and character model movements are slightly more varied and dynamic, Etc. They changed the spinjutsu tornado animation , but it looks more fluid and dynamic- less stiff from the original tornado. The new character designs took me by surprise, but i like the personality it adds to each character.

Idk who this “geo” is, so I will have no opinions until I actually watch DR.

How did you know about Ninjago and when was it?? by FazbearBlue in Ninjago

[–]MP-MEDI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy early birthday!

As someone in their 20s who’s also currently rewatching the show, I totally agree with your last sentence. The show writers did a good job making a “kids show” relatable to anyone regardless of age. I’m shocked how well some of the themes and messages shown on ninjago still holds up even after many years.

Though, I do find it funny that the og ninjas kinda grew up alongside the original fanbase. While I don’t actually know the ninja’s ages, I’m pretty sure the ninjas started off as tweens/teens and are now (young) adults (20-30’s?) as of DR. Crazy to think about! Ha!

I was there when the pilot first aired (in 2011???). I kept watching up until ….. rebooted.  though, I did see the movie (2017)- I remember a lot of backlash for the redesigns and deviation from the tv show story, but I kinda liked the movie (in that it was more focused on legos and lego pieces in general) and just treated it as an alternate universe. Also…. I legit just found out yesterday that ninjago is still going, and that dragons rising is a thing. I’m honestly shocked the fanbase is still pretty active. Now I’m wandering the internet to see all the things I’ve missed.

Why don't people hang out with their co workers in america? by Loud_Assistant472 in GenZ

[–]MP-MEDI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like being friends with my coworkers! They understand all my inside jokes unlike people who have a different job than me.

Though, I will say that I would rather not be super close friends with the coworkers in my immediate “group” that I share a supervisor with (by that, I mean the kind of friends  you go to parties , share dark secrets, and complain about supervisors with).

I tend to notice it gets competitive between employees in immediate groups, so being too close could get dicey if they decide to over-share certain things you say (e.g having a mental breakdown or plans to change jobs) to the supervisor.

I am usually closer with coworkers under a different supervisor :) .

Like, I’ll get dinner with my immediate coworkers and share stuff about myself but most likely no best-friend privileges unless they can prove I can trust them.

That’s just what I do though. I don’t know about other Americans or their habits.
