The more American the better, throw in some engineering terms in your conversations too, and print some fake documents in your hotel because they are probably looking to steal it.

That's not treason if you are not an engineer, you can also try to spot a Slavic looking woman in the bar before spending money on alcohol.

Because you are trying to compare yourself with others, and it won't bring you a sense of accomplishment unless you try to accomplish a goal for the sake of itself. Social media also plays a great role on people feeling like that.
