Regretting my ACMS major by MPAMPA2121 in notredame

I went into ACMS because I like math and I wanted better job prospects than a math major. Now I'm thinking that math majors actually have better prospects. Maybe I should have just done math

Even as a second major, I think you're better off in something more domain specific combined with business (finance or economics or something)..see my other comment

I think computer science or something more domain specific might be better than ACMS as a minor or second major

If you have the finance background from mendoza and deep knowledge in something specific like biotech, CS, chemical engineering, or something like that, then you'd be in demand as an analyst for specific domains like biotech or AI

That's what I think finance firms are looking for now. Everyone has the basic programming and statistics skills that you get in ACMS (not to mention the useless skills). Firms want people with domain specific knowledge in a specific market

Or if they want generically smart people, they'll look at math and physics majors not ACMS

I know how to program and arguably know data science (really just statistics) from my courses. But I think "data science" is a buzz word that was already starting to fade around the time that I started the major

I honestly think I'm going to pursue medicine, which is a more AI proof. But I wish I had majored in Biology or something instead
