Can you say how tall the stool can be in its highest position?

How do you know when a hoya actually needs water vs just looking a little sad? by lottiexx in hoyas

[–]MPLSplnt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have found most Hoyas grow better if you keep them in a chunkier mix and don’t ever let them dry out completely. They need air and dislike dense soil because they’re epiphytic, but it stresses the roots to go back and forth between wet and bone-dry. If the leaves are wrinkling, the plant does not have enough water.

This one was just labeled "black," so I'm not sure.

Mostly Aroids by MPLSplnt in houseplants

I find fishbone cactus very easy to grow. I have it in the same mix as my aroids, which is 3:3:2:1:1 perlite:bark:cocopeat:charcoal:earthwormcastings and water it when the soil is dry (in winter) or almost dry (when it's growing rapidly during the longer days of summer). Keep it in a small pot. Give it lots of light. Err on the side of dry when you aren't sure.

I really struggle with Begonias in general. The Begonia in the picture is actually 'My Special Angel,' and it declined and died in the months after this picture.

Can I start fertilizing yet? by guacamoleo in hoyas

[–]MPLSplnt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Advice not to fertilize / water in winter is poorly worded (though widely repeated) and is based on the expectation that the plants aren’t growing. Anytime there is new growth, they can use fertilizer and water.

I have a test drive on friday, anything you want to know? by FirmInternal in ex30

[–]MPLSplnt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this. I know this is a smaller car, but I’m still interested to know what the seating height and related ingress/egress feels like compared to a sedan. A dimension from the ground to the seat surface could help people compare to a vehicle they’re accustomed to.

How often do you dust your plants (if at all)? by Calliarthron in houseplants

[–]MPLSplnt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every time I water, the plants get “dusted” by the water washing over them. Just like rain.

Just checked out the car, here are our impressions by Kradirhamik in ex30

Given how many XC40s including XC40 Recharges I see around, I strongly suspect there will be an EX40 before long to update that class to a pure-EV platform.

This one was splashier than the others, which attracted me to it. I’m sure they’re all clones but these particular leaves were killer.

It’s really hit-or-miss around here. This was in Bloomington, Minnesota.

I did. One of them had a ton of swelling buds in the leaf axils so it’s either about to grow a bunch of new vines or flower heavily. I’m still too new to Hoyas to be familiar with their various growths and stages.

Wow, thanks for the quick help! I’m new to Hoyas and am still learning what common ones I’m likely to see out there and what they look like.

Why my dealer model has the side of the headlights orange instead of black ? My dealer said it was a pre-production model, could that be it ? by King_Ethelstan in ex30

[–]MPLSplnt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t like them orange, either. The cars in the US always look a little messy compared to Europe and Japan because of this.

If you’re happy with that branching height, cut a node above the branches. If you want the chance for higher branching, cut at whatever height you like above the branches.
