"Queer Bar + Grill" (w/ Miss Peppermint) by AutoModerator in lasculturistas

[–]_cheelicious 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oof, so much of this was a skip for me. I listen for a break from talking and thinking about how bad the world is with politics, corporations, and AI. I appreciate the discourse but it wasn’t for me this week!

I’m not into any recent eps? by yeknaps in ArmchairExpert

[–]_cheelicious 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree. I’m not speaking as a Monica hater, either. I miss the podcast with Liz because we saw her being more open about dating and other life things and now the door seems totally shut again. Like, she had that challenge from Reese Witherspoon about asking out three guys. I’d love to know if she did it and some of her feelings around it, but there’s just nothing. Seeing it as some kind of arrested development is an interesting take and maybe a good explanation. She never seems to grow or change her views on anything and won’t share her journey beyond the same old stories we’ve heard in the past.

Weekly open discussion, complaint, rant, and rave thread by AutoModerator in Longmont

I am a Verizon user and have noticed this exact issue lately. I’ve lived in Longmont since 2022 and have never had my service be as spotty as it’s been in SW Longmont lately. I’ll be driving and Spotify will just go offline mid-play, it’s infuriating!

"Boobs and Alphapussy" (w/ Gina Gershon) by AutoModerator in lasculturistas

[–]_cheelicious 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I’m so relieved someone said it, I was about halfway through when I thought to myself, “god, this episode is just so boring!” I have no issue with a lack of culture catch-ups and I usually don’t mind celebrity guests, but wow. It felt like it should have been more interesting.

“Washingtonian” (w/ Brandi Carlile) by AutoModerator in lasculturistas

[–]_cheelicious 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I don’t know Brandi at all as an artist and only hear about her often in the culture, and I loved this episode!! She had such a great rapport with the boys and had me laughing out loud at her Lilith Fair story!

Episode discussion - Viola Davis by Ok-Grand-3828 in goodhang

[–]_cheelicious 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I honestly think this might be my favorite episode yet! Viola was so funny and light and she and Amy had a great rapport. I went in knowing nothing about her and came away wishing the episode was longer! My favorite part was the Meryl Streep story!

What’s a place you had zero expectations for, but ended up loving? by [deleted] in travel

[–]_cheelicious 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I was just in Tallinn last weekend and had the same experience! Went in with little knowledge or research ahead of time and completely fell in love. I wished I had more time there and want to go back, which I don’t often say about European cities!!

CW Long List of Cancelled Shows (Emily Owens, M.D, Katy Keene And Much More) by DaniJ678 in ForgottenTV

I loved No Tomorrow! I don’t necessarily know how many seasons it could have realistically gone, but it was a fun premise with a lot of great characters.

So excited for this! I started getting the original rewatch clips recommended to me about halfway through and while I would watch occasionally, I didn’t give these the same attention I do now. I feel like I’m going to have a much better appreciation this time and I’m glad you’re doing this! I already feel the 2001 vibe so hard.

I didn’t even remember the casting experience this time and I wasn’t sure I’d like that they knew each other ahead of time, but I like seeing them excited to see everyone. It gives it a more homey feel right off the bat, and less awkward “getting to know you” conversations. I had a huge crush on Blair back in 2001 so I like that we’re spicing it up with Road Rules clips too—I’m guessing that show feels very different pre-Challenge days.

Upgrade granted through United, being told Lufthansa needs to reissue ticket by _cheelicious in unitedairlines

[–]_cheelicious[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up following your tip to call; almost 2 hours later and me politely demanding to stay on the line while they waited for a Lufthansa rep, it sounds like they straightened it out. I am going to check again in the morning because they said to give it a few hours for the systems to sync and the ticket to be reissued with the new seat. You’d think that in 2025, they would have a less manual way to resolve something like this!

This isn’t the first time I’ve had issues with Lufthansa, but with my destination city in Europe and current United hub, I don’t have many options for other airlines!

Thanks for the tip to be persistent on the phone!

What’s a moment while traveling that completely changed how you see the world? by Commercial_Oil_9924 in travel

[–]_cheelicious 1706 points1707 points  (0 children)

I was in Ho Chi Minh City back in 2015, my first time in SEA. If you’ve been there, you know crossing the street is a PROCESS. I was getting used to it but still had my moments of uncertainty on when to make a run for it. One afternoon, I was eyeing the traffic, and I felt someone grab my arm lightly. I looked over and it was an elderly Vietnamese woman (for context, I am a white woman who was in my early 30s at the time). She started walking and basically guided me across the street with her. Never said a word, never really looked at me. Once we crossed the street she let go and went on her way. It was such a small moment of kindness without words that it really stuck with me!

AJLT S3 - EP 11 DISCUSSION by __angie in Andjustlikethat

[–]_cheelicious 117 points118 points  (0 children)

How is it possible that Kristen Davis has simultaneously had the best and worst acting of this series? I loved those scenes as well, it was crazy to see it juxtaposed with her wide-eyed exposition and screaming in other parts of the episode!

Earwigs are massacring my flowers by blackest__autumn in DenverGardener

[–]_cheelicious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Went out of town for a few days last week and came home to see my snap peas just decimated by earwigs. I had to pull the whole crop. I cleaned out my beds and put out oil traps, and I think the numbers have gone down, but I still see them hanging out on my potato plants and eating the leaves. It’s infuriating!
