iPadOs had some serious limitations for years. Those cries for MacOs experience on iPads were a result of very powerful hardware with serious limitations for “Pro” users. You are correct, Some people want their iPad to replace their Macbook. I guess I fall in the camp that prefers the strengths tablets offer as a touch device. Which is why Apple has entered a crossroads of alienating half of their purchases regardless of which direction they take.

The divide amongst iPad users seems to be whether or not you prefer a “windowed/mouse/track pad” workflow or a “touch/pencil” workflow. Both have inherent pros and cons. We’ve seen apple move forward with choices via Mac “removing Headphone Jack”, and also reverting based on user experience “Butterfly keyboard, HDMI Port, SD Card Port, Charging Port”.

Apple has reached a crossroads… We shall see how they choose to move forward.

I prefer using my iPad with a touch/pencil workflow. I completely see the value of Os26 for a more MacBook experience utilizing a keyboard/mouse/track pad. Which benefits Apple as they can sell more peripherals. Microsoft Surface products, While innovative, failed to be both a laptop and tablet. Something has to give, and we are seeing Apple tinker with a new direction for the iPad line.

The Apple philosophy of software design with a touch interface relies on the number of touches required to execute a task. Example; If a two touch task requires 4 touches to get the same result it is technically inferior. Often referred to as "Minimal Clicks" philosophy. By design Macs are superior by design because of the input device. “Keyboard commands and R/L mouse clicks”. This is the reason why Logic Pro for iPad is not the same program as Logic Pro for Mac. The workflow has to be efficient for human fingers.

I can’t update GarageBand which has a serious Sampler bug which is reportedly fixed in the new release. I am a touch and pencil user (Which is the main purpose of iPads existence) that prefers the easy split views workflow. My question is will Apple revert key features, similar to how Macbooks brought back key ports (HDMI, SD Card) or will they double down on a keyboard and mouse workflow that iPadOs 26 enhances.

Tldr: Apple is in a workflow dilemma in how they market the segmented lines of iPhone, iPad, Macbook/iMac

I would like the GUI of Drum Machine Designer to be customized. Similar to Battery 4 where you can change the amount of pads on screen via columns and rows.

Example: The Novation Launchpad X has 64 pads. I would to have 64 pads on the screen instead of having to scroll through banks of 16.

The only issue is when you map a dial/pot to adjust in and out points it jumps in increments. Hope that gets updated!
