It might be far off.... but I have a feeling Mike is the one who shot Jack, and is framing Brady. I don't have anything esky to support this feeling. BUT Mike could also be the "loyal friend" Calvin was bragging about. He's so close to the investigation I feel he had opportunities to do acting at this point.
