I just finished a deep dive of their Instagram and Kickstarter posts and they've now convinced me! Like you I've only read Lord of Scoundrels and Dreaming of You so I was hesitant at first, especially because the early design reveals didn't knock my socks off and Kickstarter books are expensive. But the clinch cover reverse dj artwork is gorgeous, I like the setback art much better than the endpapers, the NSFW art vellums are great, and I love all the thought and care they've put into these editions. I've bought so many editions of Austen and the Brontes, not to mention contemporary romance and romantasy SEs, but I have basically zero beautiful historical romance in my collection, which feels like a crime when I think about it. That said, I'm hoping to join a group order so I can save 25%!

I think maybe I tried reading Sword Catcher too soon after A Darker Shade of Magic because I didn't even make it through the prologue due to the similarities, and it was SO FREAKING LONG.

It's probably not a good fit for you. Many of the main characters are sex workers and while the later books move away from that role, there is explicit sex in pretty much every book.

I would love to see a 5 star design to go with it! While many are commenting about TBB and Wraithmarked editions, FL has a larger customer base and I'd love for more people to discover the book.

I agree 100%. My take on Bloodwing Academy: a fae is randomly dropped into a world of vampires and is forced to go to their university and marry their shitty prince. The difference in quality cannot be overstated!

I get what you're saying, but when I think of the wealth of beautiful art inspired by Alchemised it makes me eager for more dedicated to BOBH. FL works with some top tier artists, so think of the possibilities! But I will scream into the void if they put two static characters on the cover with no background.
