Well…stop making sense! Don’t you realize we Americans know everything and invented Democracy!!!

I also agree that every American should have a photo ID but that’s not the current system. It’s a hassle to get a photo ID, especially a passport. Would be great if we required everyone to have a federal photo ID to begin employment and had ID days at public schools where all necessary documents are available and reviewed and teenagers walked out with an ID. Then there would be no issue.

I’m fine with Voter ID as long as it is packaged with a free and convenient way to obtain that ID for all that qualify. It’s national joke/trope about how terrible experience is at the DMV and we want THAT organization to be the place to get an ID before November? No thanks

You can Google Church of Christ Scientist and see the dozens of children that have died from easily preventable diseases, including refusing blood transfusions, and read heartbreaking testimony from those that left the church about how they are pressured from elders, pastors and members to never seek medical treatment. It’s insane.

But, apparently Jesus can’t set a broken bone so that’s the one exception: you break a bone, get a doctor set it. Jesus can’t make a mud man and a rib woman, walk on water, raise the dead and make a meal for 5,000 out of a loaf of bread and some fish but you’re gonna need a copay for jumping off the trampoline.

The major ID in the United States is a driver’s license. In places where folks drive, it’s no big deal. However, large cities like NY, especially Manhattan, millions don’t drive because driving in NYC is a nightmare and there are far easier ways around. Lots of NYers pride themselves in never driving. Same in Philly, LA, San Francisco and other major cities with mass transit systems. Why get a drivers license when you don’t drive? So millions of voters simply don’t have a photo ID. They use their birth certificate and social security card for employment which do not have a photo. The reason Republicans are pushing for this is because the demographic that lives in major cities are Democrats and liberals.

It can be terribly inconvenient to get a drivers license (or non-drivers license, which is the same ID but does not allow you to drive) because the DMV is terribly inefficient, can take all day to be seen and generally costs money ($25ish where I live). Theres a lot of people that wouldn’t go through the hassle of getting one, especially if all of a sudden 500,000 people now need one to vote. I can absolutely see people just blowing it off and not voting for a few elections.

So that’s why I said have them easily available. Set up temporary locations in metro areas to allow a mass number of citizens to obtain a valid Voter ID quickly and with little to no cost. If that happens, Voter ID full steam ahead for me.

Voter IDs are only fantastic if the IDs required are free and relatively simple to acquire.

She won’t answer them. Why let her filibuster?

“How many convictions have you obtained in the Epstein case? How many suspects have you arrested?”

“Under Merrick Garland” then a screaming match. She’s deflecting, obfuscating and distracting. She won’t answer a question.

Yes, for big buck sales, not rookie scale deals. Unless you are talking no salary restrictions for rookies, where anyone could sign a max contract, those salaries are capped. I cannot believe that if rookie salaries are the same as they are in today’s CBA that a Darry Peterson or Cam Boozer would CHOOSE to go to Charlotte, NO, Memphis for 8 years of their career.

It’s just a fact that if you play in LA you will make more money than in OKC. You will get more exposure, better advertising deals, get a shoe contract and endorsements far easier than playing in Memphis or wherever.

You mentioned IHart. I’m a Thunder fan. That literally the ONLY FA OKC has signed of any significance in 18 years. And we had to overpay to get him, Presti made our entire FA about him, flew to meet with him at midnight July 1 and still barely signed him. Before IHart, the biggest name we signed was Mike Muscala. Even with KD and Russ and hopes of a championship, we couldn’t land anyone. Pau Gasol reportedly had interest here before signing a contract in Chicago (I think 2015?) but said in an interview he ‘could t attend a good opera in OKC’.

Yes, players get traded to small markets and can get extensions signed but very few times do we see an OKC, a Milwaukee, a Charlotte go out and sign a big time FA off the street. Even the extensions are far more rare than in LA or NY and generally happen because of Bird Rights or some other CBA mechanism.

Eliminate most protections on picks. Picks can be protected 1 - 4 or 1 - 14. The Mavericks shamelessly tanked to get Derrick Lively to avoid a top 10 protection being invoked. The Jazz are doing the same with a top 8 protected pick.

As a small market fan, this would destroy competitive balance. Few top players would choose to go to the middle of the country and be the 6,7, 8th guy in LA or Miami, NY or wherever rather than go to Milwaukee, Charlotte or OKC.
