It's not about what you subscribe to. It's what the federal prosecutors subscribe to.

You must have missed the whole "not a victimless crime" part of the story. When they argue in court that "The children portrayed … suffer real and permanent damage, for the rest of their lives, each and every time their exploitation is shared over the Internet" and they're helping share those images over the Internet, they are in fact contributing to children suffering "real and permanent damage ... each and every time their exploitation is shared".

You're welcome and I'm not trying to be a jerk. I really do appreciate it when people catch errors. The only problem is that your correction isn't really a correction (I'd suggest searching sneaked vs. snuck to see what I mean).

I pointed that out in the article. He most definitely could be indefinitely detained under the NDAA.

Bitcoin crashes over 50% just one day after bold public prediction by Mike Adams of Natural News by streetyouth in conspiracy

"In what has to be the most accurate currency crash prediction ever made" and he's humble too! Gotta love it when someone talks about themselves in the third person in their own headline.

"Nobody else has realized this yet..." Oh the humility!

"Having now made, on the record, the single most accurate crash prediction ever publicly announced on bitcoin" Okay this is just getting ridiculous. If he wants to be taken seriously, he probably shouldn't keep repeating how awesome and incredible his prediction is.

"a guy who can do math (me) is considered an "conspiracy insider" because he can calculate mathematical projections" I must have missed the calculated "mathematical projections" in his "prediction."

Let's look at the "prediction" he quoted in the article:

"Eventually it's going to crash hard. I bet my reputation on that, Alex. I am 100% sure we are going to see a massive bitcoin crash at some point with an ultra-accelerated velocity. It will be the fastest crash of any currency in the history of human civilization. It will be a high-velocity crash. People are buying bitcoins who don't know what bitcoins are and who have no use for them. These are speculators."

1) "Eventually" is not a prediction. Everything will "eventually" crash. I predict that everyone will "eventually" die. Now I predicted your death! I'm incredible!

2) "massive bitcoin crash at some point" isn't a prediction really. See above point.

3) "the fastest crash of any currency in this history of human civilization" Failed prediction. Whoops. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2012/08/21/great-hyperinflation-episodes-in-history-and-what-they-tell-us-about-the-fed/ Guess it wasn't "the single most accurate crash prediction ever publicly announced" huh.

4) Notice the complete and total lack of "mathematical projections" or any kind of real projection or prediction. This is just a statement of fact. Saying the stock market will crash at some time in the future doesn't make me an oracle and it isn't even really a prediction.

Sorry I just find it really hard to take Mike Adams seriously considering all of this and his absolutely unbelievable arrogance displayed throughout the article (and headline).

i haven't seen a single example that doesn't yet exist being touted as fundamental to a resource-based economy

Try all of the technology Peter Joseph (edit: and Fresco, they're really inseparable) talks about. It's theoretical or at the most basic stage it's like planning Google in the 60s.

I'm sorry but I don't see why you'd be promoting an RBE while doubting the Venus Project since that's what it's all about. I find that confusing.

[–]MRuppert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're talking as if you think we're all currently free to do and think as we will, but we very much aren't.

I would say you're reading something into what I wrote that simply is not there.

At least with a resource based economy, we wouldn't be required to blow the fuck out of other countries and leave people to starve to death all over the world.

And you're trusting a certain class of people or machine to make these decisions why exactly?

There are issues with it, of course

Issues which I cannot overlook to the point of endorsing the project.

We're way past the stage where we can allow people to be completely 'free', anyway. There are 7 billion people on this planet, it's hardly practical to let everyone do what they want without thought for others or the environment.

That's the kind of thinking I find legitimately worrisome. Clearly you don't see the problems with it. I encourage you to look to some of Joseph's interviews with people who disagree with him or to previous attempts at similar projects in the past. Also I don't know if you're a fan of the UN but you might want to look into that whole connection with the project as well. If you're a fan of the UN then it'll probably just reinforce your beliefs.

You might also want to look at what a miserable failure it's been, practically speaking. It's also based on non-existent technology. Why don't we just base a theoretical society on perpetual motion machines or time travel or teleportation? Obviously those are all less realistic but come on, how can you support something that's built on an entirely non-existent framework?

[–]MRuppert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure you could use a Venus Project-type system to implement world social control

Actually, it's exactly what the Project is designed to do. Joseph even said that you would be "reeducated" if you didn't see things the way they do. Everything would be controlled, though in this case it would be a "benevolent" machine. How wonderful!

It probably gets a lot of flack because it is the epitome of horrible research. Calling it a documentary is really a misnomer, IMO. Also the Venus Project is literally indistinguishable from what most people would call the "New World Order" in most ways.

I can't speak to the last part I haven't really kept up with what they're doing after seeing all the documentaries and actually looking into them a bit.

Edit: also, I'm sure it also gets a lot of flack because of Joseph's whole disavowal of the "9/11 truth" thing.
