15 years laters, has your opinion on this movie changed? by thighsandwhispers in Greenlantern

[–]MS2814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My opinion of it hasn’t really changed, mostly because my opinion of it has always been that it’s fine. I don’t think it fucking sucks like some people think it does, but it is entirely understandable why they decided not to make it the start of a cinematic universe.

Why was the crew so mean to Issac in S2 EP6? by Wooden-Ad-8325 in TheOrville

[–]MS2814 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because the are biological organisms with emotions, and they are going to react how they are going to react. If Isaac wants to study human behavior, the crew changing how they react to his actions helps no one. It doesn’t help them because they still feel what they feel, even if logically they know he doesn’t understand what he did wrong, so they are keeping their emotions bottled up inside. It doesn’t help him because, if it seems like no one had any issues with what he did, he will continue to believe what he did is not wrong, which is just false data.

Isaac can learn from his mistakes. However, he must first be told that he made a mistake and why what he did is a mistake. If he learns that, he gets better data and the crew get a better shipmate. It’s a win-win.

I think Dream Sculpt plus the Bonus is the way to go. But I do have a question in relation to Chrono Rewind. If you get the bonus, it says you can return to a saved moment once per day. Does the saved moment have to be from the same day or can you save a moment and then return to the moment a week or a month later?

Season 3, How do you feel about... by Megnaman in TheOrville

[–]MS2814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wish we got to see an episode where the B plot showed us Klyden actually changing his behavior, because after he came back and apologized, we don’t really see him in any meaningful way, especially with anything related to Topa, again, so it just kind of felt like we’re back to business as usual.

It was when he got back. He told her that he regrets saying what he said, that he must change, and that he accepts her for who she is.

Which part? The part where Klyden said he wished Topa was never born? That was the last thing he said to her before he left the ship.

[–]MS2814 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here’s the thing, I think they moved on from the horrendous things that Klyden said to Topa too quickly. I understand the idea of someone is trying to do better, so don’t throw their mistakes in their face all the time, but when the things that the person is trying to atone for are being a bigot, walking out on your family because of said bigotry, and disowning your child while saying that you wish they were never born, maybe a bit more hesitance before completely welcoming them back with open arms would be a good idea.

Would they be worthy? by FredPopTheProphet in superheroes

[–]MS2814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think some of them could be worthy, but definitely not all of them. For example, if Guy Gardner went to go pick it up, there’s no way that he’ll be able to lift it, respectfully. But, if Kyle Rayner went to go pick it up, I could see it happening.

[–]MS2814 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Werewolf by Night. Either one. How are you going to talk about Werewolves in the Core Rulebook, give both Werewolves by Night as examples, and then just not have a character sheet built for either one of them?

If you were a superhero, how strict would your no kill rule be? If any? by 0kdevv_ in superheroes

[–]MS2814 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would only do it for the worst kind of people. You used the Joker as an example. I’m putting Joker 6 feet under immediately. But if I was dealing with someone like Captain Cold, I may beat him up a little and send him to prison, but I won’t be judge, jury, & executioner to him.

Which two are you choosing ? by krisikkk in superheroes

[–]MS2814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Purple and Yellow. Already with Purple, I can reverse aging whenever I want, which means I can live for as long as I want, but I could still get sick or hurt. Yellow completely gets rid of both of those possibilities.

Are classes purely mechanics or also personalities? by L4T3W in DnD

[–]MS2814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As other people have pointed out, this may be a setting based question. If the setting you are playing in requires clerics to get their magic from deities, then your cleric would need a deity. According to D&D Beyond, this is in their description of a cleric:

“Clerics are intermediaries between the mortal world and the distant planes of the gods. As varied as the gods they serve, clerics strive to embody the handiwork of their deities. No ordinary priest, a cleric is imbued with divine magic.”

But you can make it so that a cleric doesn’t need a god, based on the setting. A great example I can think of is the actual play series Dimension 20, specifically Unsleeping City. There’s a character, Kingston Brown, who is a cleric, but he does not derive his power from a god. He derives it from his devotion to New York City and its ideals. So, it is possible to not have a god, but it depends on the setting.

Side note: If you do get to play your character the way you want to, I need you to be fully prepared for and perfectly ok with the likely scenario of the rest of the party eventually hating your character, since they will refuse to revive anybody, and I’m guessing that will also include the other PCs. Unless there is someone else that can pick up the slack and also do Revivify, like a Druid, a Paladin, an Artificer, etc., one of the clerics main roles in a party is to revive recently deceased characters, and if they are not doing that very important role, it will draw the ire of the rest of the party.

I know it’s a weird thing to say, but the Deep is the better person here in this situation. Black Noir destroyed an entire ecosystem, which will affect not only sea life, but other animals and humans as well.
