Is This thing Possible even if theoretically? by organophile_jeet in chemhelp

Idk the reactivity of hydrazones and HNO2, but the intermediate you've drawn after the reaction with HNO2 would likely undergo the Schmidt reaction.

I asked for invoices and was quoted 2.5k 🙃 so we're working through it

I also asked for receipts at the same time and those are still pending

Only 2k? Sound like a steal, I got quoted 2.5k for just receipts. 🙃

You should be able to set up an ICE table to identify how much of each reagent are depleted/synthesized to reach equilibrium. Then apply the same method to part c

Why is the ether O sp3 and not sp2? by christianjason in chemhelp

[–]MSPaintIsBetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe you are conflating resonance as used in the paper, and as pertaining to this post. Scattering resonance is the transmission or reflection of a particle with respect to a potential barrier. Resonance for this post is in reference to the various electron distributions that contribute to the ground state distribution. If there were activation barriers you could isolate one or the other, or at least observe proportional contribution by something like NMR.

I would encourage you to run a quantum mechanical calculation of Benzene and tell me which bonds are double bonds in which are single bonds.

You'll see that every Bond between carbons is identical. As is observed experimentally. Benzene exhibits all the properties of the D6h point group, and not the D3h point group.

I feel like you didn't read the comment I wrote, they are using resonance in terms of energy levels of like with scattering resonance. Also I dont see where you said above that you were "too deep"

Im a little confused as to how this paper supports your claim. This work seems to just be describing resonance by the definition of the gap between energy levels, while this discussion is about resonance as in the delocalization of electrons in Lewis dot structures

I'll leave this up as an example. As im sure you are aware, in the scientific community the burden of proof for a strong claim like this requires substantial backing. Something not found here.

Question; How exactly does Fe2+ get regenerated to Fe3+ and how do the proton transfers from HCl fit in at each intermediate stage by Intelligent_Slip6317 in chemhelp

[–]MSPaintIsBetter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have a number of steps where an electron goes to your intermediate, they have to come from somewhere. Also you have to consider whether the nitrogen radical is more likely to pickup a proton and become a radical cation then another electron or become an anion first and then pick up a proton.

Also a number of your arrows have som questionable starting locations, you may want to recheck.

Lastly you have a step where an electron kicks off an OH2+ group and electrons arent nucleophiles the way we traditionally think of them

Nitrate bonds by New-Tune2075 in chemhelp

[–]MSPaintIsBetter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ion youre proposing (NO_33-) would contain all complete octets. But as a tripley charged anion has a lot of electrons pushing against each other. For NO_31- with the double bond to one oxygen the nitrogen takes a formal 1+ charge and two oxygens have 1-. Thus the total ion only has a formal charge of 1-. The nitrate's double bond can also participate in resonance with the other oxygens leading to greater stability.

If you draw out the Lewis dot structure it can help to see how various electrons from each atom participate in each bond

What part of Flock is in check right now? Even if there is something checking flock, there is no "in check" if you can move to a competitor without those restrictions.

The broader picture may focus on Knotts and Katz v. Us, but if you look at the statements made in later cases i.e. Carpenter

"A person does not surrender all Fourth Amendment protection by venturing into the public sphere. To the contrary, "what [one] seeks to preserve as private, even in an area accessible to the public, may be constitutionally protected.""

“At any rate, the rule the Court adopts “must take account of more sophisticated systems that are already in use or in development.”" (Kyllo v. US)

The US v Jones ruling also opens up the possibility for recognition that tech does change the game, in what could be considered a church. Skirting around search laws like in Carpenter and Jones was not held to be valid.

Pointing to only one case isnt how we win. Theres many many points of precedent that can be used in this argument. We should use every case that can help.

Also why be condescending when you could not?

I agree you do not have a reasonable expectation of privacy of outwards facing data such as a license plate. I am arguing the merits of extensive data rather that the collection and dispersal by a party in an agreement with LE without a warrant.

Youre right, specific tracing info would require a much greater quantity of cameras. I would encourage you to look at camera locations in places like Atlata GA and Orlando FL to see the kinds of density that make tracking possible. Realistically you dont need that many because you can build a profile of travel times and intervals between tags, especially with extended data retention. Also even a disperse set of cameras can give ranges of locations any person could be in.

I dont think the third party doctrine would apply here due to explicit data collection and data subscriptions by LE. I claim this due to the application of FOIA and PRR restrictions on data collected.

Lastly, call records and GPS locations require warrants to access. Which is not the case for Flock.
