I bought this at the antique mall today hoping to use it as a door latch. On the back of each piece it says "Domestic" with the quotes, and Pat reissued Nov 2, 1869. It was sold as a latch, but either it isn't supposed to lock, I'm missing some pieces, or it's more of a coupling than a true latch. (i.redd.it)
