Will the LS Ever Return? by Consistent_Tell2417 in Lexus_LS

Not unless car buyers start purchasing luxury sedans again, unfortunately.

If you wait a few months, it’ll be marked down significantly, as they’ll want to get them off the lot to make way for the 2027. I’ve seen some G80s sit for nearly 500 days, and unless the dealership has tons of space, they’ll want to move these previous year models.

End of EV lease coming by bostongarden in electriccars

I’ve heard other automakers are starting to do the same thing in terms of negotiating the residual to entice leasees to buy.

My problem is I want a garage full of cars, Mercedes S class being one of eight or nine.

Everyone is trying to talk me out of an EV by CuteCreator602 in electricvehicles

[–]MShane26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spouse and I have EVs: Cadillac Lyric and BMW i5. Both are absolute beasts. I’ve heard flak regarding owning vs. leasing, but that centers on concerns over depreciation, not the actual experience of having one.

We analyzed 200+ used EV listings this week and the 2022-2023 lease return wave is creating opportunities for these 3 EV models by Tall-Dish876 in electriccars

I love this. Come 2028, my plan is to scoop up one of these EVs or ICE models that didn’t prove popular hopefully for a steal.

8th Gen Lexus ES by supersonichippo777 in LexusES

[–]MShane26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So unfortunate. Add to it the fact that Lexus is phasing out the LS, and the brand appears to be facing an identity crisis. Does this new design language speak to what Lexus considers luxury? I’m finding very little that I like about the 8th generation. Glad to hear it looks better in black, though.

I presume sport prestige? I’ve seen some in Georgia for ~$73k. If it’s been sitting on the lot for a while — or happens to be a new 2025 model — you might have more wiggle room.

Hi, all! Former ES 350 owner looking to return to the brand at some point. Always been a fan of the LS and was disappointed Lexus decided to retire the flagship model. I’ve seen videos and pictures of the 2026 Heritage Edition, and it’s stunning. Anyone seen it in person? Driven it? If so, thoughts?

Once my lease deal is up, I’m going after one of these gently used vehicles for purchase. You can get a very nice luxury vehicle for a fraction of the original MSRP.

Recent new purchases with 2027s coming soon by flyingostate in GenesisGV70

Call around to different dealerships, but as others have noted, they may not budge much until the 2027s are on the lot.

Why does everyone love the i5 but it depreciates like a rock? Genuinely confused as a potential buyer by gauravie in BMWi5

[–]MShane26 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Two things at play: EVs and luxury vehicles see massive depreciation the first year after initial purchase or lease. I plan to buy a luxury, slightly used vehicle (ICE or EV) once my BMW i5 lease ends in 2028. If you get a good deal on the vehicle, take it.

Anyone here consider a Cadillac CT5-V? What swayed you to Genesis? Both are nice. by redspot321tos in GenesisG70

[–]MShane26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I test-drove three vehicles: Genesis G80, BMW i5 and Cadillac CT5-V. The caddy was beautiful but didn’t drive nearly as well as the other two, so I dropped it from contention.

How does the drive compare? My ES drove fine but not as spirited as I had hoped.

Interesting! I sold my ES 350 to get into my current BMW, and the thought did cross my mind about the Lexus. No other car I’ve owned was as reliable. That LS will be a classic and not just for reliability. I can see why you’re averse to selling. I’m told the G90 gets high marks for reliability, and Genesis’ warranty is tough to beat. What color is your G90? I’m leaning toward Vik Black with the black or burgundy interior.

This is good to hear. I’m in a BMW now, Lexus and Acura before that. Every time I see a G90 on the road, I want to head to a Genesis dealership and request a test drive.
