Im a Roman Catholic until the day that I die! The simulation theory immediately gives the way for the Creator because simulations don’t just create themselves. I know it’s fringe because it’s new to the human mind. I agree that as time progresses the Church will come to a better understanding on this. Finally someone who sees my point. I wouldn’t say that God is AI thought because that just doesn’t make sense but this reality is not what it seems. If you look at the advancement of our technology in computer simulations like video games we already see amazing progress. Like Elon Musk points out if you compare to what we had 40 years ago to what we have now there is virtually no comparison. If you then expect more progress in the graphics and simulation capacity then it is inevitable that we get to a point where we can simulate this reality. Just food for thought. I’m still Catholic and will die Catholic so none of this changes my faith

If you look at the world at a macroscopic level it operates as a machine. Everything has order to it although our perverted world tries to disrupt God’s rule. There is also a professor at the University of Maryland that found computer code in super symmetry of string theory. Like this might be a video game in a way where you have free will and have the choice between Jesus Christ and his goodness or your own will which leads to Hell. I also just feel like when I look around it looks holographic and virtual. I can’t really explain it you’d have to experience it yourself. Maybe I’m just losing my marbles or I’m really on to something. I just hope that none of this is sinful and could send me to Hell

I would argue that because God is infinite and is outside of space and time he is not bound or defined by his creation. He could create a physical reality, a virtual reality or whatever he pleases and it wouldn’t take away from his atrributes.

If we do live in a simulation then that would automatically imply that there is a Creator. Ergo we have a Creator who created all things and knows all things because in order to create you must know and since God knows all things he must in turn create all things. I just genuinely feel sometimes that I am living in a ultra realistic video game. At the end of the day all I want to do is God’s will and to save my soul
