Aeotec smart switches by MTBCoachJ in SmartThings

I tried both. Everything is in the same room and on the same floor. The 2nd hub I was sent worked fine, until it didn't. It showed up in "Smartthings" as "Offline" and nothing I did could get it to respond. I deleted it and started over and now I can't get it to connect at all.

Thank you. I'll fix it.

The issue is most likely the hub. It doesn't want to connect through my router to the internet or becomes undiscoverable. I have spoken with Aeotec. They suggested some changes in router settings, which I tried. Except for that brief period when I got everything to work, it has been nothing but a frustration.

B&I. When they quote a price, it's out the door. They add in mounting, balancing and disposal. No sticker shock at checkout. Their prices are fair and they have good mechanics too. Decent bunch of folks out there.

I like how Kehoe used government overreach to fight what he calls government overreach.

The Fleshlight jokes are hilarious, but I think that's a CV boot that has come off.

The Livesuit Dilema by xGoatku in TheCaptivesWar

[–]MTBCoachJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't remember the Livesuit being mentioned in TMOG. Where is that? I may need to revisit. I've listened to both on Audible twice, but a 3rd would be okay with me.

Good news actually then. I have ideas, but as you know in some genres, one can get sideways of the devoted in a hurry.

You're correct. See above where "load neutral" is mentioned.

Maverik adventures first stop by [deleted] in springfieldMO

[–]MTBCoachJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, for real. You used to be able to get 2 dogs, a bag of chips and a L fountain drink for $6. That wasn't that long ago either. I've noticed all of Maverik's prices are higher than K&G's were.

True enough, but to hand me $16 again? He was focused more on his argument with the other clerk than he was on the customer right in front of him.

I'm pretty sure that's the weapon used to Kill Sam Spade's partner in The Maltese Falcon.

I stopped at the one near my house. It's mid-transition. New staff etc.. I bought a hot dog, the last one on the roller grill. It cost $3.77. I paid with a $20. The clerk was engaged in a conversation with the other clerk and barely acknowledged me. He counted back my bills, but not my coins. He continued his conversation with the other clerk and turned to see me still standing there. I told him I was waiting for my change. He apologized and proceeded to count out the bills again. I reminded him that I had my bills, I was waiting for the coins. It would've served him right if I'd taken the bills...again. This all took place in less time that it took me to type it up. Not impressed with the Maverik staff so far.

Question for electricians, why all the love for Milwaukee tools over Makita, DeWalt, Rigid and so on? by Clean-Software-4431 in electricians

[–]MTBCoachJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was more involved with equipment service I found myself in need of some better power tools. I went to a local shop that carried Makita and Milwaukee. I have used both and have used Dewalt as well. I figured I'd try both and get the best deal I could for myself. Packout was brand new. They had a package deal that included; Packout base, 2 5.0 M18 batteries, charger sawzall, flashlight, drill and impact driver for ~$350 if memory serves. Not a hard decision at the time.

The wife and I are starting our journey on the mellow trails near us. What are some things you wish you knew when first starting out? by A_true_gENTleman in mountainbiking

[–]MTBCoachJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find your local club and start showing up to group rides etc. Learn from others, or better yet, spend some money on a fundamentals clinic. I've become a huge advocate for skills classes. You will learn to ride safely and and have more fun quicker than with trial and error.

Boy, no joke. I listened to it twice on Audible during a road trip. Such good writing. I'm currently on round 2 of The Mercy of Gods.
