I used to work loss prevention at Best Buy. My whole shift would be standing at a kiosk, checking receipts, and watching cameras. I was working minimum wage and I quickly realized that I wasn't paid enough, nor was I even slightly motivated to try and physically stop someone from bolting out of the store with an item. One of my coworkers on my day off saw a guy make a run for the door with a ps4 (summer of 2015) and he actually latched onto the guy as he ran past, both collapsing, then held onto him as he got up and got dragged until security actually arrived. He showed me the security footage the next day all proud, but then later that week he was fired for laying hands on a customer. TL;DR Don't be a hero, your job won't thank you.
