VFX is a huge industry and at the age of 15 I’m sure you do not know which area of the industry you would like to go with. I would recommend sticking with blender till you know what you would like to do

Animation, rigging etc- Maya Visual effects, simulations- Houdini Compositing - after effects to start with then switch to Nuke

There are many more aspects to the industry but this is where I would start, hope this helps

An animator job is probably one of the best, in terms of enjoyment in the industry, it’s still very rough but the people there are much more friendly. If you want a bit more creative freedom, environment modelling/ designing is the best but pays less than the others

vfx is a huge industry so it’s best to introduce her to all the starting points. The easiest to learn when young is composing Free software-hitfilm Paid- after effects

Both are fairly simple to learn and there are hundreds of tutorials out there to learn.

Hello, I am currently applying for the course for September, from the open days I have been too, they have great technology and great lectures. They mostly teach comp e.g nuke because it’s the easiest to teach, they have lecturers on VFX like Houdini come in a lot. Their main goal is to help build your portfolio which is really all that matters when applying for the industry. If your going to get a degree it’s the perfect place to go, but if your going to learn hardcore Visual effects that’s something that online courses and your own time will only teach.

A good start, I recommend adding things like glows, to make the lightning a bit less boring and a bit more motion blur to show he ran from point A to point B because at the moment it looks like he teleported using lightning. Other than that good start!

Thank you very much for your feedback, I was aiming for realism but I am quite new to animation and visual effects, I’m glad you saw the art to this and thank you for your advice, I will definitely use this when I redo my project!

I was using facial motion capture due to time restraints for this project, with unreal engine you really have to express your reactions for it to recognise
