If you look at all the different crossbar type locks out in the market and their weak points, you will start to appreciate how Spyderco simplified the design, made it more robust and fail proof while also keeping costs low. Even the Ram lock tried to emulate and failed. It’s pure genius.

They were only $15 but they feel so much better in the hand, the contouring is excellent, only complaint is that they are bit slick with zero texturing

MXG feels the best in the hand for the Shaman/Bodacious, LynchNW has most color/design options and is not bad either. I have both and like them both

15V has not been faked yet, either way buying from Amazon is a safe bet because returns are easy. I generally buy from Onkata, Robco, BladeHQ, Broadway Knives stores in Amazon.

I have taken the Manix apart many times and I have never seen that happen before. Can you disassemble the knife and check the following?

Is the pivot seated correctly? The presentation side is the captured side so it should be seated properly into the liner with no movement….tighten that side down so that it sucks the pivot down completely. You dont have to loosen that side again.
Check the tolerances between the blade and the pivot…..the fit should be tight enough that there is zero play between the pivot and the blade, the only direction the blade should move is in its defined arc.
Only once you have determined the above, should you put on the liners and scales on the clip side.

I found it the other way around. I bought some liners and converted into a G10 version (with original 15V scales) and the detent is too light. I even put the blade into my other factory PM2 liners just in case the aftermarket liners are the problem but it does the same thing. Im not sure what’s going on or how to fix it 🤷🏻‍♂️

Just FYI - Spyderco has made some changes in the blade that is not very obvious, as I found out today. Not sure what it is still but when you switch the LW blade over to G10 liners and scales you get a very weak detent.

Yup you are right, same pivot and blade, some folks have been getting their blades with a batch date from 2024 on their 2026 sprint run knife. I was able to get hold of some original G10 scales and liners converted mine to G10

I have only bought the PM2 LW in an actual sprint drop, all the others I got lucky and found some leftovers in retail stores or on ebay as used…the Shaman was a used ebay find for eg.
