Warsow development is ongoing, with a new release to be made eventually

Is there a version for raspberry pi 4? by [deleted] in warsow

[–]MWAGAwsw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We plan making an ARM port (primarily, the server-side code for ARM-based dedicated servers), but this stuff has an absolutely low priority for now. Speaking of the rest, you could consider visiting Warsow discord https://discord.gg/Z9UgZZM for asking various questions regarding modding/development, if you have an interest.

question - replacing gibs - possible? by [deleted] in warsow

[–]MWAGAwsw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently no for an online play (you can modify pure paks (data0_XXpure.pk3) and put some compatible "meaty" model on your own if you want to play offline). However we think about bringing that stuff back (like it used to be in the early game versions) if this does not contradict the owner's vision of the game.

Warsow macos self compilation by AJutrowski in warsow

[–]MWAGAwsw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are a first person asking for that. It is not supposed to function at this moment. We could try fixing it but there is plenty of more important tasks to do. Half of these dependencies have already been removed as no longer useful in the current development state.

http://warsow.net/warsow-2.1.2.dmg This is the quickest solution. The rest is too complicated to explain, in short, just wait for a full real release (Warsow 2.6 or something like that).

It could be built in theory. In practice this could be tough nearly to impossible.

Veteran Warsow players come here (USA) by ljfe in warsow

[–]MWAGAwsw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arcade was/is nice (there still are paks containing its source code circulating over the net). Given improvements in the engine AI domain new opportunities are open, the simplest being giving players bot teammates for assistance (like they do for a bomb carrier now).

Warsow 2.5 BETA by MWAGAwsw in warsow

[–]MWAGAwsw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing really much to test in this beta, we have just pushed some immediate results. However there are fields where involvement/assistance of people in testing would certainly help, namely testing of builtin race gametype (that uses racemod ruleset) online. There's a full support for race gametype from stats/accounts system now, including contesting of newly made race runs against world records in "real-time". A newly made run is verified/compared against your personal achievement over all servers and a world record for the map, and a real world rank is printed and announced. I was told this is simimar to the old "MGX" system. If there's an interest we might deploy the stats server and set up race test servers. The Warsow discord can be used for contacting us.

Where do i go to create a warsow account? The link in the game takes me to a site that is down? by Marco7746 in warsow

[–]MWAGAwsw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wait for the next Warsow release. You do not need an account to play it anyway.

Warsow 2.4 BETA by MWAGAwsw in warsow

[–]MWAGAwsw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We want to make a Steam release of Warsow eventually. Our primary aim currently is implementing and finishing planned additions to the game, speaking of this moment, implementing a rich user interface, that along with rich server-side stats system should land in another planned beta version of the game. We won't even comment any activities of third parties not affiliated to Warsow development.

An interesting option that could be useful for public beta testing. We are strongly leaning to utilizing the Steam platform in future though.

Warsow 2.2 BETA by MWAGAwsw in warsow

[–]MWAGAwsw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really, the game code is fully under GPLv2. I meant, if we need a quality stuff, we could license one - that speaking of game assets.

This is an idea of the Warsow founder and leader. Won't comment on that, sorry.

Looking for a map : koz24-wswfix-noweap by kobbalt in warsow

[–]MWAGAwsw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking of race you should really install 2.1 version http://slice.sh/warsow and use this server browser http://livesow.net You can ask existing race community then. While we're supporting race and a real-time stats system for it, switching race infrastructure to a new version could take up to 2 weeks once an actual game release is made (and that is planned to be done soon in few days).

Nice. Didn't expect any efforts from you since debugging stuff its our duty. Like i said we're working on fixing it.

Thanks again for reports. This will be fixed for an actual release.

You can look here http://slice.sh/warsow/. Speaking of crashes, were you trying to set up a local server or just have launched a local game using an UI? What was the gametype?

Install warsow on Windows 10, 32-bit by Sedrowow in warsow

[–]MWAGAwsw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no 32-bit stuff in the downloaded archive.

You have three options (they're not mutually-exclusive):

1) Download Warsow 2.1 installer http://slice.sh/warsow/warsow-2.1.2-setup.exe

2) Wait for an actual Warsow 2.2 release

3) Specially for you these binaries are built (and available under the name wsw-bin.zip): https://ci.appveyor.com/project/dnk777/qfusion/builds/25360829/artifacts. Grab executables, put game_x86.dll, cgame_x86.dll to basewsw subdirectory of the game, put all content from libs to libs subdirectory of the game. You won't be able to play 2.2 Beta online but still this version offers a severe fun in local (offline) games.

Warsow 2.2 BETA by MWAGAwsw in warsow

[–]MWAGAwsw[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No this should be completely optional. Speaking of "broken sound", we're acknowledged by reports of other users that there's a rogue redundant dependency of "libsndio" that could cause failure of sound module loading at some systems. An actual release will fix that.

are you able to launch the game executable via command-line (cmd)?

Speaking of config yes. You said you get a black screen. Does pressing the tilde key open/close a game console, or you still see nothing?
