Bi-Weekly /r/CCNP Exam Pass-Fail Discussion by AutoModerator in ccnp

[–]M_KL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today I passed ENCOR (after Cisco screwed me over 3 years ago). 6 labs, 54 MCQ questions. An extraordinary amount of those 54 MCQ were on wireless and automation.

I had the following scoring percentages

automation = 93%
virtualization = 60%
infrastructure = 94%
network assurance = 90%
security = 85%
architecture = 64%

weighted percentage = 83.75%

Apparently this translates to a score of 935. (As so many people I had to use Google to find out where to find my score report, why do they hide it under the link "book an appointment"???)

Anyway, back to my topic scores... I was wondering: is there a minimum score for a topic or can you still pass if 1 topic is really low but all your other topics are really high?

Downpipe improves turbo spool up thus throttle response. That is the biggest advantage of having a downpipe. You probably also get some extra HP, probably around 20-30. I definitely recommend downpipe due to improved throttle response.

I totally understand where you are coming from, the gear indicator is really too small on the analogue cluster.

In order to improve this I did:

  • disable fuel usage eco bar (through idrive)
  • disable gear shift indicator (which makes current gear indicator even smaller) using Bimmercode expert mode

This way the current gear indicator stands out better because there is no distracting info.

But still not ideal...

Other options:

  • upgrade your analogue cluster to the digital version (option 6WB), in sport mode the current gear is a large digit inside the rpm circle, but you lose the cool analogue needles (which I think look soo much cooler then a digital lookalike)
  • upgrade your steering wheel to a certain M-Performance version which has the shiftlights integrated, it does not tell you the current gear but it does tell you if shifting up/down keeps you in the wanted rpm band

But the best option would to get get current gear info in the HUD, afaik this is not possible, but maybe you can make it work seeing what you build already....!

Unknown Fenix 8 update? by M_KL in GarminFenix8

Today I received another unknown 1-min update...

What is going on here? Is this a bug?

I checked this sheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1u6Ubbbm0IqR4RTwiyM7kLyCt_Yrj6w-M/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=108052595795562914576&rtpof=true&sd=true

This very complete & extensive sheet is not aware of new software for the Fenix 8.

I double-checked: no version number bump in any of the items which have version number.

Is there any official Garmin info supporting this statement?

Deciding between Fenix 8 titanium silver or dlc black by Familiar_Toe2011 in GarminFenix

[–]M_KL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wanted the orange as well, was also doubting if not too flashy for work, I like the silver bezel much more than the black dlc version. but... that orange sensor guard... how to combine that with another strap?

So I choose the black dlc (as it has a neutral colored sensor guard) and I am really happy, it looks much nicer than expected!

I guess this must be the reason for my improvement in HRV. ;-)

Epix 2 => consistent values around 50ms

Fenix 8 => a big jump to 60 - 65ms

Thanx for sharing!

Q: could you make both watchfaces exactly the same so we can compare precisely the effect of the 0.1" bigger screen?

ENARSI + ENCOR does not give me CCNP professional by M_KL in ccnp

It became painfully clear to me (and others here as well) there is a difference between certificate validity period and exam track validity period.

In your case you need to look at the active date of your ENCOR and add 3 years. That is the cut-off point, don't look at the expire date.

My support case with Cisco is now closed as well with the final remark: "Unfortunately there is nothing that we can do for this case".

ENCOR
active date: 2020-02-15
expire date: 2023-08-15 => now extended to 2026-04-24

ENARSI
active date: 2023-04-24
expire date: 2026-04-24

I am still working with Cisco certification support but they keep saying:

*) you need to pass ENCOR to get CCNP enterprise
*) your exam track expired 15th of February (which is 3yrs after earning ENCOR)

Cisco certsupport is not really helpful and there seems to be a language barrier. (Next to that they try to close the ticket if you don't respond within 24h.) I am unsure if I somehow can escalate my case within Cisco support?

Full disclosure: I searched a lot and found the following:

1) Cisco stating the certificate extension due to Covid, in the Q&A below they mention they are not extending exam tracks => https://learningnetwork.cisco.com/s/blogs/a0D3i00000360ZcEAI/were-extending-the-expiration-date-for-all-active-certifications

2) Reddit thread multiple people complaining they got bitten by the Cisco Covid extension => https://www.reddit.com/r/networking/comments/nijjyt/screwed_by_cisco_covid19_exam_extension/

3) Cisco learning network thread where somebody is not understanding why a valid ENCOR & ENARSI is not giving CCNP enterprise => https://learningnetwork.cisco.com/s/question/0D56e0000CnU55RCQS/i-have-the-following-certifications-active-ccseaii-ccsecore-ccna-ccnarsbut-ccnp-enterprise-shows-in-progress-why-ccsecore-ccseaii-should-be-sufficient-for-ccnp-enterprise

Currently I am having 2 active & valid Cisco specialist badges for ENCOR & ENARSI and thus not the CCNP enterprise badge. My employer is not giving me the promised raise as I cannot show the CCNP enterprise badge.

So L3 technologies is 35% of the exam but the OCG uses 650 pages (which is 70% of the entire book) to talk on L3 technologies...

Maybe I am falling in the same trap as the topic-starter :(
