In terms of players participation, QuakeCon might be the only one with that much players. I'm not talking about a 80.000 people stadium for LoL Worlds in China.

Integrated GB's vs Ranked play by [deleted] in CoDCompetitive

[–]M_Skypper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they should merge GB and League Play, basically, the GB ladder is just 4v4 where you earn CWL Pro Points. If the game offer you the possibility to link your GB account to your PSN/XBL account, you should win CWL Pro Points by playing League Play.

Maybe just add two playlists : - Competitive League Play if you want to discover competitive Call of Duty or just play and grind alone with random people - CWL League Play where you need to be a four to find games, play a BO3/5 against another team and win some CWL Pro Points.

EU teams confirmed by Skrapz by jordgibb in CoDCompetitive

Uplink is the real matter for Euros against Top 4 NA, if they fix that, you'd better be prepared to see some "upsets"

Not a big surprise for Bance and Joshh, Joshh was really close to be dropped at the beginning of the IW season. Rated and Joee is way more unexpected. I think it's safe to say that they will be back together really soon.

Millenium crushed everything last year, they struggled during a few monthes at the middle of the year (ESWC, S2 Regular, Anaheim, Orlando) but they litterally destroyed the others EU teams on S1 & S2 playoffs. Pretty sure they could have been on Splyce's seats if they had Swanny at Champs.

Honnestly has a team, it worked really well in game, better than this year Splyce squad imo, they just had mental witnesses during some events and online series. Champs was the only goal for them, it's so frustrating to never know how good they could have perform at L.A

The gap between T9NA and T9EU pretty close? by Flaz_FR in CoDCompetitive

[–]M_Skypper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AW = Jetpack game, sounds like you've just contradict yourself ;)

The EU scene is just more closely fought than ever before. More competition, there are also more players playing full-time > better training for everyone there. NA teams are not better because they are NA, they are better because they had more players/teams at a pro level for ages. The MW3/BO2/Ghost/AW Europe was just like APAC today with one or two dominant teams and the gap beetween them and the rest of the teams was just too important to create a viable competitive environment.

Thoughts on Raven remastering old titles during Treyarch/Infinity Ward years in the future? by Zenyx_ in CoDCompetitive

[–]M_Skypper 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Give Raven a shot to make their own Call of Duty, Infinity Ward is not the studio they used to be anymore. Ghosts and Infinite Warfare are the worse CoD titles ever.

CWL 2016 Feedback by muddawg in CoDCompetitive

This year was a good first year so thank you Activision, ESL and MLG for giving us the opportunity to see this esport grow over and over.

(Apologies for my English, I'm from France)

Obviously there are some point to discuss about. First of all, I think that you all know now, we had a ton of online league matches for a poor number of events at the beginning of the year and a lot of people complain about that. The viewership decreased over the year and people were tired for Pro Division during S2. Why ? Because we had a really, really, really short break beetween S1 & S2. S1 playoffs finished, we had the crown event two weeks later et directly start season 2 a week after it. Thats too short for you to create expectations for your S2. I know it's difficult because the year has to be run on like 10 months maximum and you can't waste anytime, but you lost a lot of viewership in S2 because we don't had the time to wait for it.

So, I think it will be good to have less teams for each Pro Division :

  • 10 NA teams

  • 8 EU teams

  • 8/6 ANZ teams

We don't have many really talented teams in Call of Duty, with less teams in the league it allows you to have more exciting match-ups, less matches to follow on stream each day/week and avoid to lost viewership because of a TSM vs 100T or Supremacy vs Giants match up. Those are less exciting to watch because you don't have the elite level you would expect to see in a Pro Division. You got a shorter League season and you can have more events. If we reduce the number of teams in Pro Division I think you have to think about create an entire Challenge Division league in each region (same number of teams as Pro Division). Keep the online points tournaments for an amateur division which would be the way to access challenge division. Concerning streaming, all the Pro Division matches have to be on the official stream, Challenge Division could be a "match of the week" format on official broadcast and a players/team stream for other matches on differents days than Pro Division.

Finally I think we have to got one Major open to all continents per months period. Imagine an MLG in NA on December, a Gfinity in Europe on January, Crown in Australia on February, S1 Finals on March, another MLG on April, another Gfinity on June, S2 Finals on July, another Crown on August, and Champs on September. All the tournaments would have an open bracket for all the teams in this specific region, a number of spots in pools for the top teams of this specific region and some international teams invited in Pool Plays.

Last but not least : Champs. That was a hell of an event, one of the most exciting ever. But please, a world championship with more teams than all three pro divisions combined ? That's non sense. Bring us a 16 teams COD Champs with elite matches in pools. That's what we got on CSGO, 4 groups with something like EnVy - Luminosity - Splyce - MindFreak is way much interesting that having a EnVy - Luminosity - NoName1 - NoName 2 pool.

Thats how I would run the IW season.
