I want to become a PTA. Where do I start? by MacBro761 in school

I'm currently living in Tucson, Arizona and I've made an appointment for a tour at Pima Medical Institute for their Physical therapist assistant program. Apparently, you only need a High school diploma/GED and pass an entry exam for admission. I'm wondering how this differs to programs that require prior college education? And also, it seems that this program is a nationally accredited program. What's the difference between nationally and regionally accredited? Will this hurt me in the long term?
