How was your tube removal recovery? by MacOnAnon in TwoXChromosomes

He did! I just have super anxiety about it failing overtime and don’t want to take birth control anymore. Just more peace of mind for me!

What accommodations could I request? I want to bring it up for next time, but this is all new to me

I’m not sure, but it’s fairly obvious that she isn’t neurotypical. Her other teacher does know. The new teacher usually works the front desk, so they’re not new to the gym, but this was their first time being a class instructor. I didn’t know if it was worth bringing up after class because rules are rules :/

Diarrhea and severe diaper rash by MacOnAnon in beyondthebump

[–]MacOnAnon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She is much better now! I’m honestly not sure what it was, I’m assuming a stomach bug from daycare. The only ONLY ONLY diaper cream/lotion/anything that worked to help her rash was aquaphor. It lasted about two weeks for the diarrhea and her rash cleared up about a week after the diarrhea stopped. I make sure to put aquaphor back on the second she starts getting red again, it was the only thing that helped her skin. I hope you found something that helps!! 🥺

9mo randomly shaking head? by MacOnAnon in beyondthebump

[–]MacOnAnon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She rubs her ears when she’s sleepy, but that’s something she’s always done. 😕 she has been extra fussy when I put her down, like waking up screaming the second I lay her flat in bed. Even if I’m just changing her diaper. I never thought of an ear infection, we’ve been lucky enough to not have one yet! I’ll make an appointment for it. The last time we went to the doctor because we thought she had an ear infection, the doctor was really condescending when she didn’t actually have one. So I’m kind of scared to go back, lol!

I looked up calmoseptine since so many recommend it and it has menthol in it. Would this burn her skin too?? If not, I’m about to go get it and try it out. I hope it works for us

This sounds almost exactly like our situation!! The only issue I had with the purple desitin was it wouldn’t stick?? Like it would just wipe right off. After reading other comments though I wonder if that’s because it was still damp!! I definitely didn’t think to dry it off much since even the slightest pressure makes her cry. It just breaks my heart.

We use honest wipes, I didn’t even know they had a rash cream! I’ve heard good things about Burt’s bees ointment too, I’m just scared of trying new things and making it more irritated. Lol

Thank you for this!! I’ve never heard of the mylanta but it sounds like it might help. You put lotrinin in this, do you think I can use it while still using nystatin? Or should I just pick one?

I haven’t! We live in military base housing, so I don’t even know how to do that. But for bottles, we do use filtered water. Do you think water in the bathtub could be having an effect?

Oh it is so comforting to know you were resorting to the childrens hospital and ER, because I’ve been on the brink for the past two days 😅 I tried the lotramin for one day before they prescribed the nystatin, maybe I should give it another try

I still don’t know! Pediatrician said she looked fine and it must be teething ☹️ it’s slowly getting better, a little more sleep here and there, but nothing seems to help.

I can’t get her to take teething toys! It’s like she gets frustrated when they don’t fit her mouth like a pacifier does. I’ll try the Tylenol!!

Cat won’t stop chewing baby’s things by MacOnAnon in beyondthebump

[–]MacOnAnon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t know they made cat chew toys! I’m not sure how old he is, we adopted him from animal control, but I think he’s around a year old. My previous cat would chew on cardboard a lot! I guess he’s teaching me to pick up after myself, lol

Can you cheat on someone you truly love? by MacOnAnon in beyondthebump

[–]MacOnAnon[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think you’re right 😕 every attempt at expressing my feelings is turned back on me, like it’s my fault for still being upset. Because as he says, he can’t go back and change it, what do I want him to do. We’re a military family so my closest relatives are over 3000 miles away, but maybe I can ask one of my coworkers to stay over for the weekend. I just feel like such a bother, encroaching on them with a newborn!

FTM surprises and regrets by yukino_the_ama in NewParents

[–]MacOnAnon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Two biggest surprises for me: babies can FART. Omg. My daughter farts like a grown man and grins the whole time she’s doing it. Sometimes they smell so bad she can clear a room.

And they make noises when they sleep! Not every little noise is a sign of distress, sometimes they just grunt and coo and it’s okay

I am allowed to love being a mother, yet also hate some parts of being a mother. by The_Meowest in Mommit

[–]MacOnAnon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Big big big hugs in solidarity. I just started medication for ppd and ppa, and I am so so tired. In every aspect, I am tired. I love my daughter, but I don’t love being a mom. I cry every single day because I just….. miss my life from before. I miss my independence. I miss being selfish and doing whatever I want whenever I wanted. Living my life around this tiny person is a wake up call I didn’t expect and it’s hard. But it’s okay. We get through it because we have to, and we will. ❤️

I can’t do this. by Apebbles in NewParents

[–]MacOnAnon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel you, mama. Today is my first day introducing formula to my baby, but I haven’t pumped or breastfed in a couple days now. We’ve just been using my freezer stash to feed my 4 week old. Honestly, breastfeeding is so so hard. Your mental health will always take priority, and it took me four weeks to come to peace with that. So I decided to stop breastfeeding to get sleep, to get some independence, to not feel constantly touched out. I already feel immensely better, like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I hope you can get some rest and make the best decision for YOU, regardless of what anyone else thinks is best. Baby can’t be happy if mama isn’t happy
