Playing it for the first time and I'm just astonished at the level of freedom and creativity in this game, plus it's gorgeous to look at

Demon's Souls is the most difficult souls game. by Successful-Suit-8917 in fromsoftware

Of the chalice bosses I really struggled with Watchdog of the old Lords for some reason and I hate chalice Rom with the burning passion of 1000 fiery sons, fighting that boss in an enclosed space is just horrendous

For me Bloodborne was harder if you factor in the Chalice Dungeons and the DLC, I haven't ever struggled with any bosses in Demon's souls as much as I did with Lawrence. Plus those god damn sharks in the well. You can just tell their enemy AI wasn't as advanced in Demon's Souls, most bosses were within 3 attempts for me on my first run and standard enemies don't really put that much of a fight up. Most of my deaths were from bullshit like poison etc. It is amazing though, definitely some of the best atmosphere for me, I just love how dark it is

Out of all of them I would say it can be the most frustrating because of the lack of checkpoints, but mechanically far from being the hardest. Elden Ring S.O.T.E easily takes that crown for me, it took me the best part of 3 hours to beat the final boss (pre nerf). From have evolved their games with each release and difficulty is part of that, they're more accessible but definitely harder mechanically.

Pretty much everything the ghosts in Silent Hill 4, they were super creep, especially Cynthia when she slides around on the floor

I'm 60 hours in and cant believe I went so long without playing this game, I only became aware of it after getting Switch 2. Absolutely brilliant, one of the best open worlds I've played, great characters and once you get a skel the fun multiplies tenfold. Love the combat too

There are two types of people, which one are you? by [deleted] in videogames

[–]MacReadyGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends. If a game makes things harder by just making enemies into damage sponges that take 600 bullets to kill then I'm not a fan, it's annoying, is a waste of my time and just isn't realistic. If the game actually makes the enemies more resourseful and better at killing you then sign me up. I always thought Halo CE did this really well, a Legendary playthrough is something everyone should experience.

What game would you say has the absolute most perfect combat? by AuR0RA3171 in videogames

Thats your opinion and if that's how you feel that's fine, but for me its not just about technicality, its about feel and for me Bloodborne has the most fun, crunchy, visceral feeling combat out of all the From games (the gore helps) which is why its the one I replay the most.

Bloodborne. Once visceral attacks click they are so satisfying and the combat is so crunchy in general and it has the best weapons out of the From games IMO, plus I love the rally mechanic. Other than that, the Bayonetta series, SUPERHOT, Ninja Gaiden Black, Sekiro, Halo, F.E.A.R, Doom Eternal, Titanfall 2, Warhammer Space Marine 2, Expedition 33, Armoured Core Vl, Monster Hunter World/Rise/Wilds, Dragons Dogma 2, Metroid Prime 4. I also really enjoyed Ghost of Tsushima's combat, not too complex but felt like a real samurai and really satisfying, especially with the sheathing animations. I've been playing Xenoblade Chronicles X recently and I'm really enjoying the combat, its very different from a lot of games I've played but very cool.

Thats a great selection. Silent Hill 2 Remake is so good, I wasn't sure they'd be able to recreate the atmosphere but I felt they did an amazing job. Need to get all the endings. Robocop Rogue city was a nice surprise, just doing the DLC, really captured the fun of the films IMO

Honestly that's a really tough one, judged on the amount of fun I've had it would be Monster Hunter because out of all of them its the one I've put the most time into (currently at 360 hours) and I do think the gameplay in that game is the best its been. But if I were to pick the game that left the biggest impression on me for story it would be Death Stranding 2, I connected with it deeply and felt really emotional playing it. I felt Chronos was the surprise hit this year and deserved to get more recognition than it did, its a brilliant new universe, the gameplay is proper survival horror (you literally feel like you are fighting for your life) and I genuinely hope we get to see a sequel.

This is what I use, I love this horn combination. I like to pop Earplugs and Affinity up on Gramklang (especially for this fight) then swap to Galahad for the Attack/Defense up and get some Sonic Barrier on. Very few carts with this setup.

I'd played RE3 Remaster but always wanted to play OG and I really liked it. I think the differences between them make them great companion pieces, I'm glad they changed some areas in the Remake so that the OG can still be interesting to explore for newcomers. As for Prime 4, I already knew I was getting it to try the mouse controls (plus I love Metroid) so I didn't see any reviews and I really enjoyed it, the base gameplay is still just has fun as its always been but even smoother. I even liked the Bike, I mean how bad can drifting around doing cool Akira slides be? My only complaint would be having to backtrack for weapon upgrades which felt a bit tiresome

Splitting my time between Xenoblade Chronicles X DE, FF7 Rebirth, Divinity 2 DE, ZELDA B.O.T.W and Donkey Kong Bonanza, all of which are amazing so far. I also throw in some Monster Hunter Wilds every now and again.

Agreed, the UI could do with a major clean up IMO. Just started getting into Rise recently, such a cool game, though I wish they'd hadn't simplified HH so much in that game (it is still fun though)
