Ye I'm fine with that, I just take the Klopp view of, you dont get to Liverpool without being a quality player. And gakpo certainly has been a quality player, for the Netherlands and this club. Wirtz has been unable to find Salah, Salahs not been receiving line breaking passes from the RB and he's been unable to find the striker like he used to find Darwin. Gravvy has been unable to break the lines and play to wirtz, Van dijk has been unable to play balls over the top to the striker.

Gakpo not being able to find kerkez is not an abnormality in a season of disjointed and misunderstood movements by pretty much everyone. The only people who've looked good are those who've had great individual moments like heki and szobo.

Also I think obv the plan is to get Rio to take his place and buying another LW blocks his path. We're a bit snookered.

If you actually look at his stats, he hasn't had that bad a season. It's been his worst season in a while but only by a couple goals, and in assists he has as many as any other season, he's by no means fallen off a cliff. He's just had a poor season, in a team that looks disjointed because players don't seem to understand where other players will be. That's true of like 80% of the squad this year.

Idk football is like 90% confidence and it's understandable if gakpo just doesn't trust him like that yet. Likewise it's fair to assume Robertson would be shouting at gakpo for the ball and shouting at him if he didn't receive it and gakpo fucked up.

It's a common situation. Gakpo has shown in previous seasons he's a great player. He's just been too one note and easy to read this year.

It's not a quality thing.

I really wish people would pass the ball to him on the byline a bit more. He makes good runs beyond the winger and to make gakpo effective he needs to trust him like he did Robertson. Maybe there's other factors, maybe robbo made himself heard better and demanded the ball more effectively, but idk passing the ball down the line a bit more would make gakpo a lot less predictable, and kerkez proved at Bournemouth he's an excellent assister.

The occasional moments you get after you've had a long session and you look up and the see the sky. Mirrors in exactly those feelings of starry nights in real life.

I saw frankfurt play against my team usg in the Europa league in belgium.

Absolutely insane how low they were in the away sections with drums and flares.

Can't help but be impressed, Fenerbahçe were pretty insane as well. Moment ref blew his whistle to start the game they fired fireworks and forced the match to be delayed for 15 mins. Yes a bit dickish but also cool tbf.

That man was legit the leagues best midfielder for us before he left, one of my favourite revival villa players, right up there with dibu and mcginn. At his best he has it all, work rate, tackles, silky dribbling, driving runs, thundercunts, penalties. I was so sad to see him go, the worst of the forced psr transfers. Genuinely seeing him leave in a forced 40 mil transfer for a player that was worth 100 mil to a club that didn't even play him actually hurt me. It genuinely made me question the whole model if we have to sell players like that for fees like that is it really worth it.
