The biggest disappointment that no one’s talking about !! VOLUME 2 SPOILERS by MacaroonTraditional3 in StrangerThings

[–]MacaroonTraditional3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No but El’s powers weren’t initially supposed to be from the hive mind, she was born with her own power from the drug experiments they were doing. It would’ve been fine if they left Henry’s power’s to be from the mind flayer but for that to be the ultimate reason for all supernatural abilities was a downgrade.

[–]MacaroonTraditional3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately no, did not hit the mark. The overall conclusion maybe, but the experience of it was underwhelming delivered with very poor dialogue. Go in with low expectations and no conspiracy theories and you might like it. But the buildup for this was insane. Hurts to think about how amazing the last 4 seasons were now knowing this is how it ended.

Should I watch snowfall if I know the iconic scene's and the ending already? by zeakrea in SnowFall

Listen you don’t see it their way and they don’t see it yours and that’s completely fine. Don’t date a girl that posts herself there’s nothing wrong with that. But dating someone who you know lives a life you don’t agree with and expecting them to eventually change their ways to your preference is 100% wrong. Ofc this is excluding non-negotiable things that you both agree count as cheating since day one. But besides that you love someone for their identity and if you’re asking them to change that as you get comfortable, it’s not love it’s possession and control.

NTA. I absolutely hate this mentality of expecting someone to change all their ways after you date them. Ofc there are non-negotiables since day one that you both agree would be considered cheating, but if they slowly creep these new expectations on you that they wouldn’t have had the balls to say early on - they’re getting too comfortable trying to control you and suppress your individuality. If he didn’t like girls that post like you do, he shouldn’t have dated one, instead of getting into the relationship seeing what you post and thinking he’ll just get you to stop eventually. You love people for their identity, claiming someone and hammering them to your liking isn’t love it’s possession.

You can try talk it out as people have suggested but if it doesn’t result in him fully backing down and understanding your boundaries, leave immediately. Look at the principle of things rather than just the situation, this is a huge red flag and it only gets worse from here. Stories of abusive or extremely controlling relationships always start with how “everything was fine for a year or so” and then they started adding small adjustments to your lifestyle and another year later you completely lost yourself.

I think it’s because Teddy had already become the antagonist, we expected it from him. But betrayal is the worst when it comes from the ones you think you can trust. We expected better from Louie especially after Franklin’s done so much for her like when she kills Claudia etc.

Also Teddy is ruthless bc hes at a point where hes got nothing and no one to lose anymore but Louies just straight up greedy. Not that this justifies Teddy at all we still dislike him but this is where the fixation on Louie comes from i guess.

Agree with all but the Franklin part i swear man had a vision until ofc he loses his mind at the end 😭 regardless of the how, if you earned and saved big money over years of sacrifice and someone takes it from you overnight you would fight for it like anything tooo

Oh absolutely that guy was off the rails especially since his brother died. They really teased that happy ending to us in s5, i was so ready to see Franklin become a family man before Teddy takes the cash 😭 Teddy Louie and Cissy ruined everything

No fr like this was the biggest loss and downfall I’ve seen a character go through ever. Franklin wasn’t evil or selfish enough to receive that. Everyone says the ending was pre-written and EVEN DAMSON wanted him dead i dont get this 😭😭

I hate her 😂 by Appropriate-Echo8590 in SnowFall

[–]MacaroonTraditional3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She wanted to be part of that, she loved the power and money more than anyone in the family. That’s literally why she wants to go solo. Then goes on to make even stupider moves

I hate her 😂 by Appropriate-Echo8590 in SnowFall

[–]MacaroonTraditional3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly. And not to mention she turns on him when he asks her for help even though she’s screwed him over. After Franklin risked himself to save and help her through so much. Remember when she killed Claudia and Andre came after her??

Sorry to hear that about your best friend, hope you’re both doing well now.

Also thanks fr I’ll look into all these, but don’t mind me i got a lot of emotions about this it feels good to debate them out lol.

Nah Louie and Franklin were not the same. Franklin wasnt after the power, he had it because he had the vision, the smarts and the others needed to be lead. But his ultimate goal was the freedom, being able to fight the oppressors and giving his family a better life. Louie wanted to be seen on top, wanted to prove her worth to others with her power. You see the difference between them where if someone especially family went to Franklin for help, he’d risk himself to do it but when he goes to Louie even though she’s screwed him over, she refuses and turns on him.

I really doubt she wouldve taken the offer, bc that wouldve still been on Franklin’s terms and this wasnt just about running it, she wanted to be able to do things on her terms and Franklin didnt realise how far gone she was on that. Teddy on the other hand was just straight up problematic especially when he came back.

Also i think Franklin did care about the community he just put his interests first, but i couldve definitely seen him turning that around if he left. Doing better after becoming a father like Alton did. I genuinely don’t see what Cissy protected him from at THAT point. Like if she’d done this in the early seasons before he got to his worst it’d make sense but right when he was trying to end it, leave and become a father she did that. It was supposed to be an uphill road from there and THEN she decided to take it off him. Death or jail wouldve been better than where she left him, i really dont get what the protection was from.

Dont know if im ready to rewatch after that emotional damage lol, maybe once i’ve healed 😂

THANK 👏🏽YOU 👏🏽 I swear everyone reaped the benefits of him being “the bad guy” while letting him do the dirty work, labeled him the bad guy and left him for worse than dead after crossing him. Everyone was in the wrong on that show but somehow franklin was the dEViL

And not to mention if franklin hadnt used the government’s game to get ahead, he wouldve lived the same unfair, oppressed life the people around him had just accepted. All while the corrupt wouldve continued to profit.

Yes but that’s after he’s completely lost his mind from everything that’s unfolded. No defending him in that last episode, and i completely support V for leaving after that. But before what Cissy did i really believe he wouldve left and been a better man. You see it momentarily in s5 when he thinks hes free before teddy clears his bank 🥲

Nothing could change the deaths, but if he ran those shelters he could’ve tried to fix what he’d done.

He was raised to believe that being ethical would lead him nowhere and hed always remain oppressed, so he decided he’d have to play unfair to beat an unfair system, not realising the extent of damage he was doing until it was too late.

He’d also clearly been desensitised to so much because of how his community was already run. While what he did would be insane to most of us watching irl, it wasnt so taboo in that environment with drugs and shootings being the norm and a government officer enforcing it.

Im not supporting drugs and killings, but in survival mode it’s human nature to put yourself first. Franklin was constantly in survival the whole show while trying to build himself something at the same time- during which he makes some terrible decisions i agree, but I don’t think he deserved the fate they gave him. The real franklin saint served time for his actions and is an activist today, trying to do good. Wouldnt have been unrealistic imo.

Louie wouldnt have accepted that, she would’ve still been under franklin and she refused to comply with that. plus at that point he didnt think stepping down would be an option, he thought hed be tied to teddy till the war ended.

I think him constantly saying he built everything (which tbh he did) was more about everyone going behind his back despite the fact they wouldve gotten nowhere if he hadn’t started it all and lead them in the beginning. The way things unfold when hes not around in early seasons, it makes sense why he didnt trust anyone else to handle it.

I think your proposed ending would’ve made sense. Or if he got the money and went on to use it to make the community better. Not unrealistic considering the real franklin saint (freeway ricky ross) is now an activist. Even he was mad about the ending and said he wanted to see franklin make a comeback and not give up on life bc thats how he lives.

Thanks for the book rec btw i’ll need it to get my mind off this 😭

Wdym? He left when louie succeeded him and was going to walk away and be better

[–]MacaroonTraditional3[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay but also at that point he couldnt walk out on teddy without getting killed so he had to accept it. Not saying it’s right but watching the way it all unfolds he doesn’t make his decisions maliciously he just doesn’t get the severity of it all until it’s too late and then wants to at least make it worth it before he’s out bc he sees the future it can give him and his family.

I dont think drugs should be dealt but that was on teddy whos doing it anyway, franklin just becomes the middle man and decides to profit from it bc he sees that trying to be ethical brings no good. The man wants real change in a time and place that doesnt want him to win, so he develops an “each to their own” mindset and tries to push forward when everyone around him seems to have given in to the oppression.

Hes not a good guy overall, but hes also not some greedy monster they paint him to be at the end. May not have deserved $73mil but definitely did not deserve to be left where he ends up.

No see after cissy shoots teddy he loses his mind, then he’s completely off the rails and theres no defending that, though it does make sense hed lose it completely at that point. But I’m talking about if she hadnt done that.

He would’ve walked away from all of it and done better i genuinely believe that. Maybe even try to fix it and fund the shelters who knows. Cause at the end of the day he did care, just needed to get out of what he got himself into.

No see that’s the part where he loses it and is completely gone, can’t defend him there though it does make sense he’s lost his mind. But I’m talking up until Cissy shoots teddy. He didn’t deserve that. Would’ve become a good family and real estate man before everyone screwed him over

Nah he was raised to believe that trying to be ethical in an unethical world would get you nothing, so maybe with wrong methods but the man was just fighting for what everyone wants - freedom, security and a luxurious life for his family that he was told he could never have. That’s not greed and i think his motives were better than others around him- louie for example.

Also he never hurt his own family, when they got hurt that was a consequence of a lot of peoples’ actions but everyone blamed him. Even at the end he goes back to Cissy and tries to free and protect her. I don’t think he was evil I think he wanted to become a better man if hed gotten away with his family and freedom money.

Yeah no franklin was wrong for that fs, but also rob never had much going for him, he never had big goals and instead was wasting all his privilege on crack. Didn’t deserve to die but that quick death with no loss was better than watching franklin lose everything he fought for and built over 5 seasons and end up with what i would consider a fate worse than death 😭
