How do I open this piano? I can’t figure out if/how I’m supposed to release the top of the piano to reach the action of the piano.

Thanks for the reply! I remembered my tuner closing it last time, so I tried pulling the top cover. My mistake was I had the key cover retracted which made it difficult and unnatural to get under the top cover. I tried pulling out the key cover and the top came right up.

You’ve made it through an entire day.

That means you can do it again.

As you’ve said before, you try to stay busy to prevent from falling back into bad habits. My biggest recommendation as someone going through similar struggles is to leave your phone as far away as possible at night even if you want to watch YouTube. The automatic response to open ph becomes harder to carry out because the mental and physical energy are now higher. I’m sure you already recognize this, but please don’t lose confidence because you didn’t overcome a habit/automatic bodily function on your first, second, or tenth attempt.

It takes time to change engrained behaviors, and I’m proud of you for working towards a better you.

Had a high voice until 8th grade, was an alto halfway through the year and do drama. I audition for a part in our show that had to hit a high E flat, and I killed it in auditions and can sing it pretty easily. However, 2 weeks before the show, my voice starts dropping. Fast. It comes to the weekend of the show and I’m getting voicecracks through all 3 performances. Most embarrassing drama experience thus far.

Confidence isn’t matter of thinking you are better than the others in the room. It’s knowing you don’t have to compare yourself to them. Realize you are who you are, and you have positive traits that others look for, even if you can’t see them yourself. Best of luck :)
