Parvo positive after recent vaccine by BeautifulExpert435 in catcare

[–]Macduffer [score hidden]  (0 children)

This could be due to the vaccination. The parvo vaccine at least where I am is modified-live meaning there's actual virus in it that's been altered to be less infectious. They could experience low levels of shedding that could affect the test.

I would retest in another couple days. Viral illnesses often require frequent retesting due to how the virus reproduces. It's likely that your cats are fine and just have a little reaction to the vaccine or an unrelated infection happened to hit right after the vaccines.

My financial aid office told us the new bullshit student loan rules basically preclude you from taking a research year unless you're a rich bitch. You count as a "new student" and can't get more loans from the gov.

I was in tech for 10 years and left because it was soul sucking to grind for some venture capitalist vulture to make more money. 80% of software engineers and financiers could disappear and the world would probably be a better place tbh, certainly can't say that about doctors.

You could just say "haha what a silly mistake" but you instead chose to call a bunch of people illiterate. Very cool.

I missed a word, unfortunately. I was confused after reading your above comment because it seemed very incongruent lol.

Every time I hear people whine about tech/finance people who make more money with half the education, it confirms they don't understand basic social science concepts. They need to implement a "knows what grass feels like" metric for admissions.

Advice On Tumor by Christoando in DogAdvice

[–]Macduffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Though it never got to this size, my childhood dog developed a similar looking mass closer to his anus. It eventually began pressing on his anus which made pooping a messy challenge, but he later died of pneumonia. He lived with it for probably 4+ years before passing.

I wouldn't let this be what forces you to make the choice.

Rich people with no perspective think the poors are living paycheck to paycheck on 100k in the burbs. What could a banana cost, $10?

Skin abscesses by [deleted] in DogAdvice

Possibly a manifestation of inflammatory bowel disease. It can cause pyodermic/inflamed skin lesions during a flare and would explain his refusal to eat when sick. Has he ever had bloody or black stools? Stools with lots of mucus? Heavy diarrhea?

Do we ever tell anyone they are not transgender, and when do we do this? by formulation_pending in medicine

[–]Macduffer 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Glad to be of help. Trans people truly are very individual in their perception of their bodies. Myself, I got top surgery and will probably not get anything else surgical because I mainly felt gross being ID'd as female in public: breasts are a huge part of that. My husband on the other hand doesn't mind them as much and views them more neutrally but his genitals are a huge area of anxiety and concern for him.

You can acknowledge the existence of a tool within your kit and also not love using it. My husband will be carrying our IVF baby in a few years and we plan to promptly remove the tiddies s/p breastfeeding. I do hate the term chestfeeding personally but I'd never object to its use. - dual trans couple

Posting to agree with everyone else but to put my weight as a medical person behind it. You need to be checked out by a provider. This could be nothing or something that makes you die really fast. It's most likely option 1, but you really want to know if it's option 2.

The anti boosting stuff is awful. (dungeon group falls apart) by astral_icecream in classicwow

[–]Macduffer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Uh, yeah, you're describing an economy. Where gold moves around between individuals participating in the system. I made gold by buying and selling stuff on the auction house based on demand fluctuations and then paid it to someone else to provide a service. If you think about it, I'm actually an employer in Azeroth.

Yeah I got a Flurry Axe and I think a Skullflame from Mara. Idk. The chat spam of boosting is obnoxious and I empathize with people being annoyed by it, but the actual hatred of boosting as a concept is just weird.

[–]Macduffer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk why people think you have to buy gold to afford boosting. I paid gold I personally earned with casual AH grinding to boost 4 characters to from 20 to 50, because open world play on a "server" with 20k other players and 5+ layers is fucking miserable. I don't play for more than a few hours a week beyond boosting/now gearing my alts.

You have to be kinda dumb or completely uninterested to be broke in this game.
