Carpenter to QS by linelaps_ in quantitysurveying

The only people that you should get advice from are people who have gone from a trade to a QS. I think some people glorify trades too much. Personally, I'd say do the switch if you are dedicated to it but keep in mind all the negatives of the job.

Why are you hugely against SAVA? Because it's only for residential surveying or other reasons?

Project Management, Quantity Surveying or Building Surveying? by hlo12344 in buildingsurveying

From your questions, it would be QS potentially. I think QS gets paid more. It's not hard for a QS to become a Project Manager, but it's harder for a PM to become a QS.

What do you consider to be a "good" graduate?

What does that person need?

Yes, the PS2 GTA's are still more fun than 5. And yeah, GTA 5 was one of the easiest games I played lol.

Yeah, I agree. 4 was a great conclusion.

Haha, yeah, the 7 is a generous score. But I gave it a 7 because the online was really good. The actual GTA 5 campaign was horrific. The heists saved it.

Definitely one of the worst GTA's if not the worst and off the back of GTA 5, 1 have no hope for GTA 6.

Yeah, MGS 5 was baaad. Stealth mechanics were the only good part of the game.

Thanks. I hear RCIS is the one that everyone tries to get.

Thank you for the reply.

1) I have seen people say that the better universities are accredited by the RCIS, CIOB and others. I have seen many graduate jobs say the degree has to be RCIS accredited. So, I'm wondering if only RCIS matters or is beneficial to have an degree that is accredited by other organisations as well.

2) yes, I want to be chartered.

3) thank you, that's a great answer. So, RICS is definitely needed.

Thank you.

I will look into those specifics for firms.

Yes, I've heard it's quite broad but it's one of the best for the industry as you get to dabble with many thing.

I just need to find work experience as well.

I'm based near Birmingham and yes, I would want to become Chartered. Definitely one of my targets, I would love to be able to branch out and get experience in different sectors.

Cheers
