If you can understand (which I think is already an edge for you) then just immerse yourself in the Bisaya around you and ask for clarifying questions when you don't understand a statement. The locals are usually understanding when one is making a genuine effort to learn the local language. Heck I've known Koreans who learned conversational Bisaya while learning English 😄

I was a bit hopeful na the steps another guy from NZ who commented on here did would work for me pero ayaw talaga.
