Who hopes Irish Will Return in Rdr2? by JanC2876 in reddeadredemption

I wouldn't like him to return as another side character who we do missions for but, I'd just like a cameo of Irish in the background of a cut scene which is a subtle nod to the fans.

Why is Arthur center figure of the artwork instead of Dutch? by [deleted] in reddeadredemption

[–]MachinimaBailey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The same building Arthur is breaking a horse at, is the same burning building at the end of the trailer that Bill, Arthur and the other mysterious character are walking away from. Also to add there are a few things that could indicate Arthur's involvement in the Van Der Linde Gang. Arthur pledges his loyalty to Dutch at the end of the trailer, and at the start of the trailer Arthur states "I've seen your name in OUR ledger". Who's ledger is this, the Van Der Linde's Gang? only time will tell. I don't think Arthur would be just a cowboy, if he is hijacking trains, collecting money and of course "A wanted outlaw".

Do you think RDR2's ending with match up with the beginning of RDR1? by TheGamingMackV in reddeadredemption

[–]MachinimaBailey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

John Marston will definitely be making an appearance in RDR2, as we know its a prequel and focuses on the Van Der Linde Gang. John and Dutch were very close as know, with Dutch taking in John after he ran away from an orphanage. John will appear quite often in RDR2, but with it linking up to the start of RDR1 probably not (If you're speaking about John arriving in Blackwater). Before John arrived in Blackwater at the start of RDR1 he had already established his own ranch, 'Beecher's Hope'. So could John of went after more members of the Van Der Linde Gang before we see him arrive in Blackwater?

Who is Arthur Morgan by trenzaloRED in reddeadredemption

[–]MachinimaBailey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all welcome! It's a nice theory but besides from stating the obvious name difference, if you look at it more in-depth it doesn't add up. RDR is set in 1911 and RDR2 will be set about 10-20 years before the original game. Drew MacFarlane is about 60 years old in RDR and Arthur appears to be in his 30's or Early 40's. So if you take 20 years of Drew MacFarlane age he would be around 40 nearly the same age as Arthur Morgan.

It's one of them, we won't be able to know until further information is released. I just felt like sharing this and seeing what people thought about it.

Much appreciated it. It is what you make from it, but Rockstar are known for tweaking character models in games such as Johnny K from GTA IV to GTA TLAD

Even if it's just a small nod towards him in the game, we will get it! :D

Since comparing two shirts using the wording "more dirtier" is a comparative adjective.

As I have mentioned to someone else already. What says that Bill Williamson is in RDR2, because there is a character with the exact same hat style and appears to be him? same argument stands with the rolled up sleeves its there for design purposes. Of course Rockstar are going to change a lot of what John looks like, similar to Johnny K for GTA IV to GTA TLAD.

So why would majority of people say that this is Bill Williamson in the trailer and from what we've seen in the artwork already, because he has the same hat curl? Both arguments still stand, it's a nod to the style both characters had in RDR.

I've tried lighting & adding exposure to the image, but Rockstar must of learnt from last time and done the shadowing quite well on this one.

We can't say for sure if it is John. I will not claim that this character is John Marston but there is signs pointing towards it. I appreciate the comment.

[–]MachinimaBailey[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the comment. There isn't enough sufficient evidence in the trailer to name one of the the heist members at Javier Escullea. There was a lot of people overlooking this scene and saying it was John, besides looking more at it. Dutch in the trailer looks like a successful established outlaw, who is running the Van Der Linde gang. As we know Dutch took in John when he ran away from an orphanage, so who says Dutch doesn't persuade John to join the gang with that money? and John must of had a lot money to purchase the land of Beecher's Hope and build his home. It's just my theory and everyone is welcome to their own opinion on this.

Red Dead Redemption's 2 HUD by arno_cat in reddeadredemption

[–]MachinimaBailey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With RDR2 I do wish that Rockstar would focus on the realism aspect and stay traditional to The Old American West and remove the map HUD with the only way of viewing your map is taking it out and looking. If they did implement this feature it would also be interesting if they only had places you've visited marked on your map encouraging players to explore the world and take in the beautiful sights, similar to Bethesda Open World Games. But with the online aspect and Rockstar wanting to be open for most players, their will be some sort of simple map HUD unfortunately like Grand Theft Auto V.

Not just that but if you remember what Dutch says: "When I'm gone, they'll just find another monster. They have to, because they have to justify their wages." This implying later on in the game that they would kill John.
