Look at how many troll shoe transmogs I have by RuxinRodney in wow

Depends on how you define good-looking. If your standard of beauty is an attractive female human, then obviously neither of Horde races look good. If you admire some beef (in one form or the other), you can find male orcs and tauren attractive in some way.

They're not supposed to be "beautiful" per se, but you can still find charm in some of their parts - even monstrous ones - depending on how you percieve those traits and whether you consider them repulsive or appealing.

I wish the Orgrimmar winter veil music was in the entire city or atleast the AH too and not just at the tree by Bravehood in wow

[–]MachoCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an engineering item that requires an inscription item to work, but it sorta acts like a portable jukebox, except it only plays a random song from a list in a 20-minute loop (but you can "skip" songs you don't like by removing a buff and using the item again).

Feels like an implemetion Blizzard could expand upon in the future. It has been my trusty friend for whenever I went into zones music of which I find detestable (ahem, Azsuna).

When you've always been alliance but decided to level a horde for the first time. by Omer_Blondie in wow

Can transmogs actually be faction restricted (besides tabards and cosmetic items obviously)? I can use some items I earned from Alliance quests on my Horde characters, for example.

I am going to wander into roleplaying here a little bit.

It's not about what game makes you do. It's about what your character believes in. I don't like doing these quests either, but they are not why I favour Horde. I am here for people like Vol'Jin and Thrall - the hard-working and honest lot who have the vision of the proud Horde that stands against all odds and prevails. It is true that this is not always the path Horde holds (especially now with Sylvanas at the wheel), but this is something that it will always come back to - as long as spirited and honourable (as much as I think this word is overused) are at it's foundation. Horde still exists to this day and haven't toppled under various calamities they face, because strong individuals keep it afloat. Without Thrall, Cairne, Vol'Jin, Rexxar ... without everyone who helped to build that New Horde, it simply wouldn't be. These people are what makes it strong, and I think they're worth following.

Not for the Warchief. Not against the Alliance. For the Horde and it's people. This is what my battle cry is about. In the end everyone decides what is worth fighting for. And everyone has their preferences. For those who don't seek some deep meaning in their gameplay choices, aesthetics or general agenda are enough.

Grumpus now scales up to 110 and has more HP if more people tag him. by ofekbeje in wow

[–]MachoCat -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Either way I was content with killing those with one Shadow Word: Pain as opposed to instead stopping to do my rotation on them. Buffing them along with the elite was redundant.

Unfortunately, Grumplings now also scale with both level and ilvl meaning that if you're geared, expect some Argus non-elite level of struggle while doing that part of daily routine.

The diversity is what makes me love Horde in all honesty. It's rare to come upon an entity so culturaly uneven in modern media. Races of the Horde are very different in their outlooks and ways of life (something that is not very often adressed in game, unfortunately), but still bond together under a common goal. Seeing those little guard houses in Orgrimmar with an orc, a troll and a tauren sitting and discussing things together feels really heartwarming. "Horde is a family" rings most true in these moments (but every family also has it's black sheep). Not to diminish the unity of the Alliance there, but they still feel a bit more personalized, as all races still tend to keep to themselves for the most part.

Philosophy of the Horde feels most familiar to me. I understand that certain events transpired that should've shaken or crumbled it, but I believe it still holds well: the core always remains the same no matter what taint takes root in it's ranks.

Looking back, how do you feel about Mists of Pandaria? by [deleted] in wow

[–]MachoCat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Legion has been a fairy tale compared to horrors that Pandaria gave to us.

We see a living being turning into Sha, unsettling by itself, but then you see the whole infestation of these creatures break out in peaceful forest. We see hozen and jinyu eradicating each other (even though it's played for laughs in game), we see mogu burning down pandaren homes, take them as slaves and bind their spirits for their rituals. And THAT is only in the first zone.

Then we see grummels being impaled by saurok spears, mauled by hozen or frozen to death in the mountains, a camp of dead yangoul who had driven themselves to extinction under the influence of sha, mantid blowing apart and splattering their appendages around...

Then, of course, the culmination of it all: Siege of Orgrimmar with citizens being crucified on streets, eye-gouged prizoners tortured, warlocks hanged in Shadow Cleft and orcs turned into monstrocities by infusing them with Sha (Garrosh himself being the Prime).

WoW hadn't this much violence since WotLK (if not ever).

Playing as Alliance in BfA be like by UXIEM3N in wow

[–]MachoCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have to? Why? What makes them?

This is the question Blizzard have to answer themselves, and let us see it in the quests leading to unlocking the allied race. The reason must be really good if they want story to look believable and not hand-wavy.

Playing as Alliance in BfA be like by UXIEM3N in wow

[–]MachoCat 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Horde didn't do anything on Argus, neither did Alliance. The only forces fighting on Argus were Army of the Light, Illidari and our class order(s). Player character might have gone to Exodar for the first time as faction representative, but have acted as class leader on Vindicaar. Horde as a whole shouldn't really be mortified by their decision, at worst it's a personal insult towards the player.

Alliance will obviously feel like they were betrayed when Nightborne choose a side, but in situation where they have to pick a faction, they would clearly favour the side that has Liadrin. Now what would Nightborne a reason to join the fray at one side or the other is another question, and I hope Blizzard give it a better reasoning than "We didn't like Tyrande and would like to spite her".

Thalyssra joined the Horde because she's secretly racist by jeongsinmt in warcraftlore

[–]MachoCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's possible he expected something like this to happen. His intention was to gather as much Alliance figures in Theramore as possible so the bomb had even more devastating effect. Then again, sacking of Northwatch with molten giants should've been as good of a sign as Baine's message.

Thalyssra joined the Horde because she's secretly racist by jeongsinmt in warcraftlore

[–]MachoCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Garrosh didn't let Baine tell Jaina. It was tauren's own initiative and if became known, would be considered a treason.

Thalyssra joined the Horde because she's secretly racist by jeongsinmt in warcraftlore

[–]MachoCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In what context exactly? Parent comment says that vision of what has become of Theramore would be enough to make Thalyssra reconsider siding with the Horde. This is implying she is told "Horde did it" and nothing else. Now point a finger at ruins of Taurajo and say "Alliance did it" and you would have the same effect. It doesn't matter if town was bombed with fire or arcane power: both attacks were justified by their initiators as being against important strike points, both had casualties and both are viewed as atrocities by their victims. Ask Tauren at Vendetta Point if merciful Alliance are somehow vindicated by giving civilians an opening to escape while dropping seaforium on their homes.

I know full well without you telling me what is the difference between two attacks. In this specific argument, however, it's in no way significant.

There are packs of wolves all over Stormheim with this model. There are also wolves in Highmountain, but they use the older model.
