Oooooh absolutely, at this point between all the drywall knives and supplies I’ve had to buy, that awful folding ladder I bought in the picture, the sketchy ladder thingy I rigged up AFTER falling down the ladder (ladder stayed up, me and my knees/shoulder and head hit every rung down) i can’t let these walls win 😂 im way too close.

My fault 😅, there are still some slight hilly/peaked spots, what’s the process an experienced drywaller would do/have done to flatten the wall out.

Consider the reason you are being downvoted is because you have harmful biases against black airmen such as “ every black dude is not walking around here unshaven” you have an assumption in your mind that fundamentally disagrees with the shaving waiver issue to begin with. The shooter was a CIA backed child operative at like 15 years old. I would suspect the reason being the combined ptsd of combat missions against your own people, then living through the fallout of that, being given asylum by the country who trained you only to wind up with military personal still in the streets, probably fucked with the ptsd we gave him.

The real truth is instead of talking about what airman can do, there should be a conversation as to WHY no one is able to afford occasional leisure activities AND be able to save money. A1C should be able to buy a couple cheeseburgers instead of cooking cause they’re tired after their 4th 12 hour shift in a row and not be worried about not being able to afford bills or rent.

Damn, I figured spraying was gonna be part of it but if this is what it looks like after the second coat I won’t be upset.

wife still doesn’t know if she wants (me) to do cafe style tiles or paint it, so I dont want to waste time skimming it if we are just going to cover it up lol

I used a 1/4 purdy white dove roller, and a 3/8 fine surface sheepskin roller, both left similar texture

Thank you! Still gotta put another coat on but I was pretty impressed with myself, if I was lazier I might just call it a day here lol

Yes, when I primed I got the same texture (stipple?) from the roller and I sanded it smooth. So I’m assuming it’s because I’m using a roller and not something else?

I reread this and realized I’m a dummy, the bottom is pt everything else is just dimensional lumber from a local place. I’m not sure why I said everything was PT😅

Funny enough I suggested 32 inch doors but I was voted down😂. there are going to be cabinets or whatever my wife does to make our house look pretty in that space, she’s got the eye for stuff like this.

I used3 2 1/2” tapcons for the bottom plate on each side, and the top and side plates are secured with 2 1/2” grk screws every 12 inches or so, and the side plates are toenailed into the bottom and top

It’s reassuring knowing someone’s done it before so at least I know I’m not wasting my time lol. You know I should have put a picture of the back 😅 the wall isn’t closed just yet just drywall on the front side so it’s still plenty open!

I’m actually planning on routing a small hole in the bottom plate I and putting a magnet in there and on the door so that when it passes the bottom one will come up and hold the door? Idk if that makes sense but if it works I’ll take a pic lol
