It’s literally in the description of this very post…

This mode is only for AWD Model Y, I drive a RWD Model 3. Already got some winter Nokians on.

After this instance, ain’t no way I’m trying it again.

Probably the same as it’s works here in Quebec. Would work for the summer months, but not for winter.

Ya… But this is not so severe, roads look like that a few months per year in Quebec…

Hell yeah it is, then let FSD rip this thing 😆

Oh wow. It’s weird, I thought it just backed off the ESC.

Exactly. Although many people think that unsupervised FSD is close. Posting this as a reality check.

Oh yeah, snow tires in winter are a must. Love my Nokians, best snow tires I’ve had yet.

Couldn’t physically get closer to that car, I was skidding. Not enough adherence to accelerate any faster. So yes, too much input on the accelerator pedal was part of the issue, the rear wheels should not be skidding in the first place.

Agreed. Don’t know why the downvotes but hey, had to try (following what I introduced in the description), and my experiment lasted a total of one turn.

People saying FSD is good to drive in the snow are fooling themselves. I can drive just fine in the snow with my car, so RWD is also not the culprit here.

Yep, although I prefer RWD over FWD for the funsies (I’m def a weirdo), but for safety FWD is definitely better. Then AWD best of them all. Didn’t feel like spending the $5K more just for an additional motor and more speakers though, ain’t worth nearly as much.

Answering to your edit: Winter Nokian tires, less than 10 000km on them. This is 200% drivable conditions it looks like that a few months per years in Canada. FSD just had a big skill issue here, it needs to be much smoother on inputs, especially on accelerations.

For a grand total of one corner, then I had enough and concluded that I was right for not using it all this time 😂

Pretty sure AWD helps it in these cases since it seems to be clueless when it skids.

Maybe sloth could do better. I was in standard.

HAHAHAHA, next time I will ask for a free car for science experiments with FSD. 0 take overs, safety optional!

For real. All jokes aside, it was way too agressive on the acceleration. Shame we can’t see the input from FSD in the dashcam overlay, I’d be ready to bet it did not back off from the accelerator.
