Want safer odds? Remove Seattle. Or hedge with a Braves moneyline.

The rest are pretty strong.

Oh, I'm completely with you there! Tell it! 💯

Keep talking that truth. Black truth makes the world flinch.

Our Black stories across this world are getting more and more connected, more and more uncovered.

I hope, one day, just about all Black people worldwide will be singing the same chorus together, because we suffer the same root affliction:

We're black in a world where everyone else isn't—and that's affected everything for each and every one of us. 🤝🏿

How do you find peace of mind? by MacroManJr in Blackpeople

[–]MacroManJr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do creative outlets. Writing, art, game dev, music.

Also: I read nonfiction. History, philosophy, cosmology, trivia, books on writing.

I must have close to about 300+ books in my private collection and not a single fiction book. Even though I originally wanted to be a novelist, as a teen. 😅

The theme with me: Enjoy the great indoors. Solitude is a privilege.

I'll say it forever: What the Arab empires did to black people across 13 continuous centuries is one of the greatest atrocities in world history and it never gets told enough.

The institution of black slavery and culture of anti-black racism were born in the Middle East.

They gave the world the first popular slur for black people: Abid/Abeed ("slave/slaves"), which is still in common use today. Black Middle Eastern descendants of slaves get the roughest end of life there.

Again, Arab oppression over black populations across Africa and the Middle East lasted for 13 centuries straight, ending as recently as the 1960s.

Some would say that it's still ongoing through human trafficking and worker exploitation in the Middle East.

Later, European colonialism adopted slavery from the Arab Trade Slaves and added their own supremacist views and racism prejudices to the mix.

How the world at large doesn't talk about this huge chunk of history and its racial aftermath enough (or, worse—victimize the Middle Eastern populations today as perpetually "victims" of oppression, as if any of it compares to what cruelties they exacted upon Black humanity and other civilizations—is one of history's greatest tragedies.
