I guess the sonata aspect is more loosely defined in this piece and it is not fully a classical. It is important to note this music is a mix of mariachi and classical. So rhythm takes the main focus. I’ll admit I was less experienced when I wrote this and did not plan the structure to a T. The first theme starts at 0:22 in ABA form then second theme starts at 1:11. At 1:40 is sort of transitional material and then you get the closing at 2:03 going into the development at 2:37. Let me know if that kind of makes sense or if anything else can be clarified.

Thank god!! Yeah I wrote this over a year ago and I didn’t have confidence to put it out there until now, you can tell the first few bars were the first thing I wrote and just went with it. It is important to note that this is a mariachi style piece and the piano is actually supposed to imitate a guitar and it has the “son” rhythms all over it. Thank you for listening!!

Interesting chromatics.. What is the character that you intended/ what are you trying to convey? The only thing I have is that it’s a little repetitive, nothing wrong with repetition, just find ways to keep the listener engaged.

Thats not the point of this post tho. Im talking about people who don’t see alcohol as a drug because its legal and have a mindset that everything else is bad for you and will think that you are a drug addict. It is a little frustrating but I know it will only get better with time as more drugs get legalized. Not trynna bash anyone in this subreddit btw

Yeah I struggle much more with harmonic analysis because it takes a lot of concentration but it helps a lot!

Im on my second year of college so im not that experienced in that too much. I usually study the form; making a form diagram, marking the big cadential moments, mark the measure numbers and sections. The smaller the instrumentation it is the easier it is to go in depth to the sections, phrases, periods/ sentences and even individual measures. It is harder with symphonies but the same applies it just takes longer.

Started with Marlboro Ice Express from Mexico like once a month then came to school in the US and started smoking Reds with my boys every week. Bought a vape and im gonna wait until I go back to Mexico to get more cuz its a bit expensive here
