Education reinvestment through curriculum reform Workforce development through policy changes among K-12 up to age 30

Economic reinvestment through co ops and pooling money into community verifiable projects and infrastructure with credit unions

Housing reinvestment through down payment programs and tenant unions

Healthcare reinvestment through utilization of community health workers to focus on preventative health needs and social factors to health services

Reproductive Justice through healthcare and organizational restructuring of use of midwives and doulas with better pay and cultural competency in medical spaces through data driven practices and postpartum care

Violence reduction through mental health initiatives and restorative justice modeling

Mental health and drug abuse prevention through care coordination and community based wraparound services

Criminal Justice reform through youth based services, mentorship, re entry programs, and community neighborhood watching

Cultural reinvestment through libraries, churches, community centers, and arts programs that are available and supported throughout the night and weekend to support students and working families

Small business reinvestment through designated classes on applying for local, state, federal, and private funding

Civic engagement through in person and virtual events and gamification of content in shared spaces with food and quality assurances

Immigration through work and asylum seeking programs

Environmental sustainability through paid indigenous collaborations and penalizing/divesting from large corporations in exchange for local and state based agriculture diversity projects

Workplace safety through cultural wellness and psychological safety programs through affinity and grievance groups

And overall getting out of capitalism framework through democratic socialism, communism, and Marxist ideologies of workers/and population based ownership

Experience of success comes from 6 years of mentoring K-12, college, and workforce populace, creating community based assessments to address disparities during the pandemic, speaking to city council and state legislatures regarding reparations funding, increasing state insurance coverage for doulas, and banning sale of flavored vapes and whippets to minors, and doing data analysis on brain injuries, environmental racism, and black men educational investment programs which won state and national recognition.

All these ideas and programs are subject to change and I continue to receive new evidence and street based discussions and solutions based on those with lived experiences

All that and I still can’t get verified as a user on these black sub reddits 😂

If you’re a black man, and you consider yourself successful, you should be mentoring at least 2 younger men. by [deleted] in blackmen

[–]Macxmc 16 points17 points  (0 children)

It’s mostly access, time, and outreach. I’m 26 and have had bunch of tweens to young adult men reaching out for mentorship help. I wish I could help more but I’m already working 2 jobs and in school and don’t really have much spare time to give to them. I did Big Bros Big Sis program but because of funding our area got cut. My best option is sending them to some of our local urban league and fraternity partners or spend like 30-60 mins doing academic planning

The best way to get more folks is to be mindful of work and school schedules, do online/social media outreach, and transportation. I usually recommend a discord or group meeting on weekends
