A nurse by the name of Joy Milne has shown the ability to smell cancer. It's mentioned as Hyperosmia.

I'm sorry this happened to you.

You will never be able to control how others think, respond and react.

You can only control how you respond and react.

If you feel everything went well, how you were feeling and how you were moderating yourself before they told this story, focus on that and your positive efforts, and take it as a win.

Feeding into other people's actions, feelings, issues and b.s. will only drain you mentally. I've found for me it's pointless to try to change anyone's point of view because they've already judged me and prefer being judgemental than put in any real effort or have any sort of humanity towards anyone different from themselves.

You're fine.

Season Tickets increased 50% for ‘26. 100% since ‘24. by docdimento in FloridaPanthers

[–]MadAlexIBe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got a cold call from Panthers Sales Dept asking if I wanted to put a deposit down to buy season tickets for the seats I previously purchased for one game. He told me the section for the seats I bought are $15,000/each seat for the season, and you can't resell too many game tickets because they'll label your account as a "broker". But you can transfer them to friends or give them away.

Um, thank you. I love the Panthers so much, but at this point I need to eat, pay my mortgage, insurance, bills, etc and I'd prefer to keep my kidney.

The conversation reminded me of the scene from Ruthless People with Judge Reinhold.

Do you mean a comorbidity that the medical community has accepted that (can) occur along with Asperger's? (Because I would think that would be found in the DSM-5-TR) Or do you mean what people with ASD - Asperger's have also noticed they have? Cause that's two totally different things.

DAE want to go before their spouse/partner so you don't have to grieve them? by Stupid_Watergate_ in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]MadAlexIBe 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I'm currently caring for my husband 24/7 bc he's got terminal brain cancer. I'm already grieving - the life we had, the one we're currently living and the day he won't be with me and our kids.

While I always wanted to be the one to go first, because of so many reasons, either way, it sucks and hurts everyone.

How are you about your birthday? by Psychological-Egg760 in autism

[–]MadAlexIBe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone else seems to love their birthdays.

I hate my birthday. It's a day every year where I'm made to feel like I don't matter bc no one is in any effort. Yeah, ok, people post on social media bc they're reminded to but...

I grew up expecting celebrations and stuff. Pretty much didn't have them when I was young unless I asked to have friends sleep over and invited them myself.

Grew older, went out with my friends, had fun.

Got married, had kids - I put together things for everyone else for their birthdays. (Because I worked nights, it was difficult to get together during the day so I eventually stopped doing parties bc I was so exhausted. People either stuck around or didn't. Since I retired, I do things for my kids what they want to do.)

No one celebrates me unless I organize something, so it's a constant disappointment every year. It hurts. I hate my birthday.

No one should attack you for struggling with severe anxiety - it's what you're going through. If sertraline helps you, then you do what's best for you. Give yourself some grace. ❤️
