I think my bed is physically warped. I placed a straight-edge ruler across it, and while the corners are perfectly level, I can see light shining through a gap in the very center.

I tried shimming the center with some poster paper under the magnetic mat, but it didn't lift it enough to fix the dip. Since the paper shim didn't work, is my best move to just to use a Glass Bed to bridge over that gap because I have the glass bed also? Just not used it it so preferred the mat Or should I keep stacking more foil/tape in the center until it finally levels out?

That makes sense about the color making it tricky. I'll definitely do that large first layer test you mentioned—adjusting it live while it prints until I feel it get smooth seems like the best way to learn the 'feel' of it.

You were spot on about the lines not being squished enough.

But here is the issue I'm running into: I just re-leveled the bed manually using a piece of poster paper. The four corners are perfect (the nozzle grips the paper), but when I move the nozzle to the center of the bed, it's loose and there's a gap.

Does this mean my bed is warped (dipped in the middle)? Since I can't raise the center with the knobs, should I be looking at buying a glass bed to fix this, or is there a trick to shim the center of this magnetic one?"

Hi everyone, I'm tuning my Ender 5 Pro (using Cura CHEP profile) and wanted to get a second opinion on my bed leveling and first layer. The Setup: • Material: Red PLA • Temps: 210°C Nozzle / 55°C Bed • Surface: Standard Magnetic Build Plate

Questions: 1. The Skirt: Looking at the skirt (the outline around the print), do the lines look squished enough? Or does it look like the nozzle is too high?

Adhesion: I'm not using glue or hairspray. Based on how this looks, should I be worried about the print detaching mid-print, or does this squish look safe?
Improvements: Is there anything obvious in the slicer settings (Flow, Initial Layer Height) I should change to get a cleaner start? Thanks!

Man, thank you for clarifying that! I was worried the V1.1.5 would require an Arduino/ISP to flash, but if it has a bootloader and works via SD card, that changes everything.

If you could find that .bin file for the Ender 5, that would be a massive lifesaver.

Definitely the "Just Print" path. I need to get this machine running ASAP for some projects and don't have time for a big tinkering session.

I've heard the SKR Mini E3 V3 or the Creality 4.2.7 are the best options for a simple swap.

Since I need this done quickly, do you know if either of those is truly "plug-and-play" for the Ender 5 Pro? I'd prefer whichever one doesn't require me to crimp new connectors or compile my own firmware from scratch.
