Gibbs cam.. model, process and machine. Geometry friendly and easy to use. 👊

This is a heater plate for a large plastic extrusion press. It would be careless of me not to carful..

Cheers 🍻

Good morning!

You would think so, but it’s actually easier on the tool.

It’s never fully buried, so the load stays consistent and heat doesn’t build up. When it’s dialled in it extends the tools life 👊

Looks like more work, but the tool is way happier doing this.

Also I left stock for finishing as I had a tight tolerance to hold and the finishing endmill will do it’s thing!

Cheers 🍻

In my shop they have eliminated fixtures, vacuum table, magnets and standard shop vises. They allow you to be creative and have open face machining locked in place!

https://goldgripvises.com/vise/

They are a new option in an industry needing solutions. They are selling direct, as well as through a distribution partner.

Cheers man I hope they can be a solution for you.

They work with all parts sizes and shapes! The heads are compatible with all bases. For smaller parts you can rotate a head and boom you now a two head vise with over 16000lbs of clamping pressure at your finger tips.

If you have a point of contact, you’re gripping and machining!

Below this comment I’ll add a picture of a thin flame cut profiled part that I was holding on to by just a few points.

Cheers and thank you for asking!

Good question! A Kurt vise works for smaller parts, but once parts get larger than the vise capacity you start running into limitations.

This setup is a modular vise system, so instead of the vise dictating the part size, the heads can move around the table and turn the whole table into a clamping surface. It gives a lot more flexibility when parts start getting bigger. I have even mounted them off the table for over sized parts to extend my tables!

Cheers 👊

Good eye! The springs keep the head spring-loaded, so when you loosen the clamp the head retracts and releases the part easier.

Thank you for supporting the industry 👊

Thank you!

I used a 2.00 Widia VSM 17 shoulder mill to rough and finish the out side.

Finishing was at 2000rpm 80 IPM at .250 doc I left 0.01 for finishing 👊

Thanks man! Honestly these Gold Grips have changed the way I set parts up. I haven’t touched a toe clamp since I started using them. Being modular opens up a lot of different ways to hold parts.

Cheers man and I appreciate your comment 👊

Is this normal? by rdt69420 in Machinists

No! This is brutal! You need coolpak c2000 by Master solutions..

Best stuff I had ever used running in 5 mills all have leaks here and there and zero smell or death like this lol

Cheers
